Consultations continue at the UN seat to set the agenda of a meeting on
Thursday between the UN Secretary General and the leaders of Cyprus two
communities.
According a UN diplomatic source, there are still some pending issues
to be settled, which all three parties to the meeting wish to either
include or leave out.
Following a meeting on Monday between a senior UN official and the
ambassadors of Greece and Turkey, it seems that the property issue will
be the focus of discussions, with a view to reach a framework agreement
in principle as to how the parties will carry forward discussions on
this chapter to achieve convergence of views on the matter, according
to sources close to Monday`s meeting.
A diplomatic source has said that the UN has assured the ambassadors
that there would be no surprises from the UN and no attempts to exert
pressure.
