[01] HOUSE PRESIDENT - UNSG`S REPORTThe UN Secretary Generals report on the United Nations operation in Cyprus and particularly his reference to the lifting of the so-called isolation of the Turkish Cypriots is not satisfactory, House President Demetris Christofias said.Christofias expressed the belief that Security Council member states, which did not accept the reference to the so-called isolation of the Turkish Cypriots in the report of former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, will respond to the most recent report. In statements at Larnaca airport, before leaving for Brussels where he will have meetings with EU officials and commenting Ban Ki-moons report, Christoifas said the report is not so satisfactory for Cyprus, especially when the Secretary General reiterates his position on the so-called isolation of the Turkish Cypriots and the lifting of the so-called isolation. [02] CYPRUS PRESIDENT - ILLEGAL IMMIGRATIONThe only effective method to deal with the problem of illegal immigration in Cyprus is for the European Union to exercise pressure on Turkey to accept programs for the re-entry of illegal immigrants, such as the ones Cyprus implements with Syria, Lebanon, Israel and Egypt, Cypriot President Tassos Papadopoulos has said.We face one of the most serious problems and the EU realises it and has offered us many types of assistance, said the President, noting that Cyprus, because of the continuing Turkish occupation, has to deal with a large number of illegal immigrants who enter the country through the occupied areas. Turkey, he pointed out, does not accept them back as other countries do. [03] CMP - MISSING - IDENTIFICATIONSRemains exhumed so far in Cyprus relate to over 350 individuals and fifty-seven individuals have been identified so far and their remains returned to their families, the Committee on Missing Persons in Cyprus (CMP) said in a press release.The Committee expressed its gratitude to the government of Ireland for its second donation of EUR 50,000 in a year made in favour of the CMP Project on the Exhumation, Identification and Return of Remains of Missing Persons in Cyprus.
