[01] TROODOS FIRE
The huge blaze which began on Friday on Troodos mountain range, which
destroyed about ten square kilometres of forest and gutted houses, is
under control.
Minister of Agriculture, Natural Resources and the Environment Photis
Photiou and Director of the Forestry Department Aristos Ioannou both
told CNA that services would be remaining in the area to guard the
charred area in order to prevent any rekindling of the fire.
