    The European Institute of Cyprus is organising a series of events, on the occasion of Europe Day, to celebrate the anniversary of Cyprus` accession to the EU and the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome, under the general title ``All Together``.

    The events begin this morning at the International Conference Centre in Nicosia with a theatrical play about Europe`s history, tradition and culture by Rainbow elementary school, followed by the presentation of the winners of the pancyprian solo song competition, and the presentation of the intercultural activities of Ayios Antonios elementary school aimed at providing equal opportunities in education, with the participation of a Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot choir.

    There will also be a theatrical play with excerpts from Euripides` ``Troades`` with the participation of actress Liana Halkia and students of the Apostolos Varnavas Lyceum.

    Following the play, the Police Philharmonic Orchestra will perform the national anthem and the European anthem, and a cocktail reception will be held, to be attended by President of the Republic Tassos Papadopoulos.

    In the afternoon, Minister of Education and Culture Akis Kleanthous will present the awards to students who excelled in essay and knowledge competitions, followed by dance performances by PASYDY union`s dancing group.

    Furthermore, there will be a presentation of the results of the programme Faith in Europe, followed by a concert by Arte music academy, a presentation by the Open University of Cyprus on electronic learning, and a presentation of a music project guided by conductor Maciej Zoltowski.

    All through the day, there will be Euro-snacks for all visitors, projections of EU documentaries, an exhibition of winning drawings by secondary schools, a Painting for Europe workshop, and interactive computer centre, a Euro-clown and Euro-face painting.

    The day`s events will close with fireworks.
