[01] CMP - MISSING BOYGeneral Secretary of the Pancyprian Committee of Relatives of Missing Persons and Undeclared Prisoners Nicos Sergides said on Tuesday that the issue of a Greek Cypriot boy missing since the 1974 Turkish invasion of the island "will have to be looked into without further delay by the Committee of Missing Persons (CMP)."Sergides told CNA that "the CMP has been informed and has obtained all the data and is expected to examine it this week." Christakis Georgiou was five years old when he went missing in 1974. Information obtained says the boy was injured and sent to Turkey for medical attention. "We will wait for the results of the efforts within the CMP and especially we will wait to see what the reaction of the Turkish side will be in the CMP," Sergides said. [02] ACTA - OCCUPIED AREASThe Association of Cyprus Travel Agents (ACTA) has assured that "any instructions given by the state bodies will be distributed to our members with instructions to be observed with religious reverence," regarding the passing of foreigners to the Turkish occupied areas, who are visiting the Republic of Cyprus legally.The Association says that "transports to the occupied areas either for trips or overnight stays seem to be organised by carriers and/or tour operators outside the jurisdiction of our Association", adding that "the Cyprus Tourism Organisation (CTO) is carrying out continuous checks at all passes to the occupied areas and is reporting the offenders." [03] EUROSTAT - CYPRUSLife expectancy in Cyprus is on the rise for both men and women, but the island is facing the problem of low birth rate, according to figures released by the Statistical Office of the European Communities ``Eurostat``.Statistical data, published in conjunction with the International Womens Day on 8 March 2007, shows that in Cyprus the life expectancy of women in 2005 was 81.7 years, with the average in the EU being 81.5 years. For men, the life expectancy in Cyprus was 77 years, with the average in the EU being 75.4 years. First were the men in Sweden with 78.4 years and last the men in Lithuania with 65.4 years. Eurostat figures indicate that the fertility rate in Cyprus was 1.34 children per women, with the average in the EU being 1.51 children.
