[01] PAPADOPOULOS - RESHUFFLEPresident of the Republic Tassos Papadopoulos will be announcing his decisions regarding a Cabinet reshuffle on Thursday, June 8.Undersecretary to the President and Acting Government Spokesman Christodoulos Pashiardis told reporters at the Presidential Palace that today`s meeting of the Council of Ministers was postponed and that the President will be making his decisions public on Thursday. Pashiardis` statement came following increasing press speculation about a possible Cabinet reshuffle [02] GOVERNMENT MISSING ISSUEThe Cypriot Government has every good political will to fully investigate and bring an end to the humanitarian issue of the missing persons, Government Spokesman George Lillikas has said.Replying to a question as regards statements by the Turkish Cypriot side that the remains of four Turkish Cypriot missing persons since 1963 64 intercommunal clashes have been located at a tourist resort in the government control areas of the island, the spokesman said that ``this is not an issue to doubt or to discuss if the remains belong to four people or not because this is something to be found from the DNA examinations that will be conducted. He noted that the position of the Government is that both sides must make every effort with the best possible will to investigate all these cases of the missing and stressed that this is a clear humanitarian issue. Since there is a certain work being done outside the political sphere we consider that it is of utmost importance to encourage and provide fully our services and assistance, instead of moving to a discussion that could cause misunderstandings, he added. Replying to another question he noted that the issue of the missing persons is an extremely sensitive one, and that every time there is a story in the news the relatives of the missing feel more pain. Therefore, he concluded, it is better to give to the relatives information that have to do with their specific case instead of generally creating high expectations. [03] BULGARIA - AGREEMENTCyprus and Bulgaria signed today a bilateral agreement providing for the coordination of their social insurance systems.The agreement was singed here by Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivailo Georgiev Kalfin and Cypriot Minister of Labour and Social Insurance Christos Taliadoros. Among others, the agreement provides for equal treatment of the citizens of both countries regarding social insurance, based on their national law and the regularization of the insurance of people working in both countries. The agreement will provide a series of social benefits for the Cypriot and Bulgarian citizens and will contribute to the enhancement of their traditionally friendly relations, an official press release says. ``In the last years we have had a remarkable contribution of workers from Bulgaria to the economic development of Cyprus. A great number of Bulgarians work in our country, the Cypriot Minister said. He added that the agreement is a landmark for the relations of the two countries. The Bulgarian Minister said that the agreement enables the creation of good conditions and facilities for the work between the peoples of the two countries. [04] TRANSPORT MINISTER - COUNCILCyprus Minister of Communication and Works Çaris Thrasou will participate at the EU Council on Transport, Telecommunications and Energy, that will take place in Luxembourg on 8 and 9 June, 2006.Among the issues to be discussed will be telecommunications, road transport, road safety, maritime safety, as well as the creation of a Single European Sky in the area of air traffic control and the EU energy policy. According to an official press release, on the sidelines of the Council, the Cypriot Minister will hold a series of meetings with his European counterparts. The Council will take place under the Presidency of Hubert Gorbach, Vice Chancellor and Federal Minister for Transport, Innovation and Technology of Austria and Martin Bartenstein, Federal Minister for Economics and Labour of Austria.
