    More bodies in Helios plane crash flown home

    Larnaca, Aug 23 (CNA) - The bodies of 27 victims of the Helios plane crash on August 14, identified through the DNA process, were flown home last night for burial from Athens on a C-130 provided by the Greek Air Force.

    Following their arrival, the bodies were taken with police escort to Nicosia, to be received by their relatives.

    China continues to support a Cyprus settlement

    Nicosia, Aug 23 (CNA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China Li Zhaoxing has reiterated China's position and support for a peaceful solution in Cyprus that would respect the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the island.

    Li Zhaoxing, who is on an official visit to Cyprus at the invitation of his Cypriot counterpart George Iacovou, assured that his country, as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, would actively support efforts to solve the Cyprus problem, based on the relevant UN resolutions.

    Cyprus solution should benefit all Cypriots, Chinese FM says

    Nicosia, Aug 23 (CNA) - The solution of the Cyprus problem should be based on the relevant UN resolutions and should be to the benefit of all Cypriots, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China Li Zhaoxing said here today, reiterating that his country, a permanent member of the Security Council, will continue to support the sovereignty and integrity of Cyprus.

    Li, who is on an official visit to Cyprus, met today with House of Representatives President Demetris Christofias who reiterated that the Greek Cypriot side, is struggling for a functional settlement of the Cyprus problem which will serve the interests of both Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots.

    During his meeting with Christofias, Li reiterated that his country supports efforts for a peaceful solution of the Cyprus problem.
