    Cyprus House President asks for amendments to Annan plan

    Nicosia, Mar 21 (CNA) -- The Annan plan cannot be put again to a referendum in Cyprus without amendments, Cyprus House President Demetris Christofias has said, noting that there need to be changes in the plan to restore the fundamental rights of the Greek Cypriots.

    Athens, Mar 21 (CNA) -- The Cyprus problem and the prospects for its settlement as well as Turkey's EU prospects will be at the epicenter of discussions over a dinner tonight in Brussels between Greek Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayiip Erdogan.

    Karamanlis will also meet Tuesday afternoon with Cyprus President Tassos Papadopoulos, on the sidelines of the European Council to be held in Brussels March 22-23.

    Nicosia, Mar 21 (CNA) -- The Meteorological Office at Larnaca International Airport has issued the following weather forecast for Cyprus:

    Tuesday and Wednesday: 22/03/2005 to 23/03/2005 ---------------------- Cloudy at times with a risk of local showers during midday and afternoon, becoming mainly fine on Wednesday evening. Moderate southwesterly breezes during daytime to light catabatic wind overnight.

    Temperature will range from 8C to 18C inland, from 10C to 22C near the coastline and from 6C to 14C over Prodromos area.

    Outlook for Thursday and Friday: 24/03/2005 to 25/03/2005 ------------------------------- Mainly fine with lith to gentle northwesterly breezes. Temperature will rise.
