    London, Nov 19 (CNA) -- The EU's Green Line Regulation, which concerns the crossing of goods and persons between the Turkish- occupied areas of Cyprus and the government-controlled areas, ''has had some impact on ending the isolation of the Turkish Cypriots,'' Baroness Symons of Vernham Dean has said.

    Commerce Minister says Cyprus can be a base for italian businesses

    Rome, 19 Nov (CNA) -- Cyprus Commerce, Industry and Tourism Minister George Lillikas stressed the possibilities for Cyprus to become the base for Italian businesses to expand their activities in the Middle East.

    Lillikas was speaking during a meeting here yesterday with Italy's Foreign Trade Department Deputy Minister Adolfo Urso.

    President Papadopoulos: Cyprus Republic's recognition by Turkey is inevitable

    Larnaca, Nov 19 (CNA) - Cyprus Republic's recognition by Turkey is inevitable, Cyprus President Tassos Papadopoulos has said, noting that the question is when this is going to happen.

    Speaking at Larnaca airport upon his return from Italy, where he paid a two-day visit at the invitation of the Italian government, the President said that Turkey has an obligation towards the EU and the Cyprus Republic to recognise the latter.
