Nicosia, Jan 7 (CNA) -- President of Estonia Arnold Ruutel arrives here today on a four-day state visit, during which he and President Tassos Papadopoulos will sign three agreements relating to cooperation on cultural and education matters and on the fight against organised crime and a protocol of cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs.

Greek Premier predicts movement on Cyprus ahead of accession

Nicosia, Jan 7 (CNA) -- Greek Prime Minister Costas Simitis believes that there will be moves on the question of Cyprus ahead of the country's accession to the European Union, on 1 May.

Announcing his decision to hold general elections on 7 March, he said the new government in Greece needs a fresh mandate from the people to be in a position to handle the important developments relating to Cyprus.
