Larnaca, Nov 17 (CNA) -- Cyprus Foreign Minister Georgios Iacovou has said that Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's illegal visit to Cyprus' Turkish-occupied areas has served as a political life-rescuer for those supporting Turkish Cypriot leader Rauf Denktash and has indicated that Erdogan is fully in line with Denktash's inadmissible positions.

Defence Minister Kyriakos Mavronicolas also said that Erdogan's illegal visit showed that there is still quite a long way to be paved until a solution to the Cyprus problem is reached and that the Turkish government fully backs Denktash.
