Brussels satisfied with Cyprus' harmonisation with acquis

Nicosia, Nov 7 (CNA) -- Head of the delegation of the European Commission to Cyprus Andrian van der Meer has expressed satisfaction with Cyprus' performance in harmonising its ligislation with the acquis communautaire, noting that all deficiencies, which are outlined in the Commission's comprehensive report on Cyprus will be solved before the island's accession to the EU on 1 May 2004.

Repas: Cyprus reunification a fundamental obligation for the EU

Nicosia, Nov 7 (CNA) --- The reunification of Cyprus is a fundamental obligation of the EU, Greek Labour and Social Insurance Minister Demetris Repas stressed here Friday, noting that Turkey's European course depends on its contribution to efforts in solving the Cyprus question.
