Cypriot parties condemn "agreement" between Turkey and illegal regime

Nicosia, Aug 11 (CNA) -- Cypriot political parties have strongly criticised the ''framework agreement for a customs union signed on Friday between Turkey and the illegal regime in the Turkish-occupied northern part of Cprus.

Nicosia, Aug 11 (CNA) - The so-called framework agreement for a customs union between Turkey and the illegal Turkish Cypriot regime in the Turkish-occupied northern part of Cyprus will cause problems to Ankara's European aspirations, Cyprus President Tassos Papadopoulos has stressed.

Speaking after a memorial service yesterday for teh Greek Cypriots killed in the 1964 bombing of Tillyria by the Turkish airforce, President Papadopoulos said the "agreement" signed by Turkey and the bogus-state on Friday ''is empty of content'', noting that actually it was signed between Turkey and... Turkey.

Nicosia, Aug 11 (CNA) -- The Meteorological Office at Larnaca International Airport has issued the following weather forecast for Cyprus:

Tuesday and Wednesday: 12/08/2003 to 13/08/2003

WEATHER: Mainly fine with a few local cloud mainly inland in the afternoon.

Wind: During day, SW'ly to W'ly direction, generally moderate 3-4BF but temporarily fresh 5BF over south coast. During night, mainly NW'ly light to gentle 2-3BF.

State of sea: Slight to moderate during the day becoming smooth to slight overnight.

Temperature: Will vary between 20-37C inland, 22-33C south coast, 22-31C west coast, 18-27 over Prodromos.

Outlook for Thursday and Friday: 14/08/2003 to 15/08/2003

Fine. No change in temperature.
