    Nicosia, May 22 (CNA) -- The Meteorological Office at Larnaca International Airport has issued the following weather forecast for Cyprus:

    Friday and Saturday: 23/05/2003 to 24/05/2003 --------------------

    Friday: Fair with temporal local cloud. Southeasterly to Southwesterly gentle to moderate breezes. State of sea, slight.

    Saturday: Fair, becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon, with rainshowers. Southeasterly gentle breezes. State of sea, slight.

    Maximum temperature: Around 31 C inland, 28 C over coastal areas, 23 C over mountains.

    Minimum temperature: Around 18 C inland and coastal areas, 13 C over mountains.

    Outlook for Sunday and Monday 25/5/2003 to 26/5/2003

    Unstable weather conditions, with sunshine and showers, especially during the afternoons. Temperature will note a small decrease.

    London, May 22 (CNA) - Greek Prime Minister and president of the European Council Costas Simitis said today there was no sense in resuming talks on the Cyprus problem if Turkey continued to maintain its positions.

    Speaking after a meeting in London with British Prime Minister Tony Blair, Simitis said they discussed the Cyprus problem and ''we have the same positions''.

    Nicosia, May 22 (CNA) - Cypriot Government Spokesman Kypros Chrisostomides said today that the position of the Greek Cypriot side on the Cyprus problem had not been changed by any of its representatives, noting that the briefing of foreign governments continues, the meetings of the Minister of Foreign Affairs in Brussels are producing results and pressure is expected to be exerted on the Turkish side to change its stance.
