It also considers urgent the need to increase the percentage of employment, especially in the services sector, to reduce the reliance on agriculture and traditional sectors and to improve qualifications. According to the report, Cyprus ranks first in employment, with 67.9% and unemployment reaching 4% in the year 2001, and the lowest percentage of unemployment 8.4% among people aged 25 and under.
