United Nations, Oct 3 (CNA) - Cyprus President Glafcos Clerides and Turkish Cypriot leader Rauf Denktash had a joint meeting today in New York with UN Secretary General Kofi Annan.

At the meeting, which took place at UN headquarters and lasted about an hour, it was decided that Clerides and Denktash meet tomorrow morning with the UN Secretary General's Special Adviser on Cyprus Alvaro de Soto.

Cypriot teams pass into second round of UEFA Cup

Nicosia, Oct 4 (CNA) - Cypriot football teams APOEL and Anorthosis have passed into the second round of the UEFA Cup.

Nicosia team APOEL drew 1-1 with Graz Austria in today's second leg of the UEFA Cup first round. In the first leg, APOEL had beaten Graz 2-0 in Nicosia.
