    Friday and Saturday: 26/4/2002 to 27/4/2002

    Weather: Mainly fine with patchy cloud at first becoming partly cloudy later with showers or thunderstorms especially inland and over mountains. In some places the thunderstorms will be heavy.

    Wind: W'ly to SW'ly moderate during the day.

    State of Sea: Slight to moderate during the day becoming slight overnight.

    Temperature: Maximum temperature 23 Celsius and minimum temperature 9 Celsius inland and 11 Celsius over coast.

    Pat Cox to visit Cyprus in May

    Nicosia, Apr 25 (CNA) -- President of the European Parliament Pat Cox will pay a three-day visit to Cyprus, from May 8 to 10.

    Cox's visit was discussed here today during a meeting of House of Representatives President Demetris Christofias with the head of the European Commission delegation to Cyprus Donato Chiarini. They also discussed latest developments in the Cyprus question and Christofias elaborated on his meetings during his recent visit to the US.

    PACE rapporteur condemns treatment of enclaved in Cyprus

    Nicosia, Apr 25 (CNA) -- In a report to the Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), the Committee's rapporteur Dick Marty expressed the Assembly's shock that Greek Cypriot and Maronite families living in Cyprus' Turkish occupied territory had been forcibly separated, youths had been prohibited from returning to their ancestral homes and properties were arbitrarily confiscated, while the enclaved lived in anxiety, uncertainty and fear.

    British Olympic team to train in Cyprus

    Nicosia, Apr 25 (CNA)-- A letter of intent for the training of the British Olympic Team in Cyprus, in view of the Athens 2004 Olympic Games, was signed here today between Cyprus Olympic Committee (COC) President and member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Kikis Lazarides and British Minister for Sport Richard Caborn.

    "The agreement aims not only at the training for the 2004 Olympic Games but also for a long-term cooperation between COC and the British Olympic Association", Lazarides told the press today after signing the letter of intent.
