The ministry said the exercise is taking place within the framework of the joint defence pact agreed by the governments of Greece and Cyprus in November 1993. Cyprus has been divided since 1974 when Turkish troops invaded and occupied 37 per cent of its territory. [04] Government to increase price of oil1430:CYPPRESS:04Government to increase price of oil Nicosia, Apr 3 (CNA) -- The Cyprus government said it has to increase the price of oil and will start consultations with the parliamentary parties to this effect, Commerce, Industry and Tourism Minister Nicos Rolandis said here today, after a cabinet meeting. He said due to the increase in the price of crude oil to around 27 dollars a barrel, it is necessary to increase the price of petrol and diesel in Cyprus by about four cents per litre.
