    [03] Finance Minister - State Budget 2002

    Nicosia, Sep 20 (CNA) -- Cyprus Finance Minister Takis Klerides has said the Cabinet approved today the 2002 State Budget which will be handed over to the Parliament at its first autumn plenary session on October 4.

    Speaking after the Cabinet's meeting, presided by Cyprus President Glafcos Clerides, Finance Minister said the Budget provides for revenues of 1 billion 736 million Cyprus pounds (one Cyprus pound is trading at 1,6 US dollars) and public expenditure of 2 billion 762 million pounds.     [04] Cyprus - Maurer - All Trade Union Forum

    Nicosia, Sep 20 (CNA) -- EU Chief negotiator for the accession of Cyprus Leopold Maurer said here today that the EU is prepared to financially support Cyprus' All Trade Union Forum to organise its 4th Conference, to take place later this year.

    Speaking after a meeting, held here today, with Greek and Turkish Cypriot Unions comprising the Forum, Maurer said he brifed them on EU social and labour legislation, pointing out that they are "a very promising Forum." CNA/CST/RM/MK/2001

    [05] Cyprus - Greece - Bulgaria - Memorandum

    Nicosia, Sep 20 (CNA) -- Cyprus Minister of Communications and Works Averof Neophytou and Greece's and Bulgaria's Deputy Ministers of Transport and Communications, Alexis Boulgaris and Zdravko Velishkov, signed here today a memorandum of understanding, for cooperation in the telecommunications field.

    The memorandum is expected to be also signed by the Vatican and provides for the exploitation of satellite orbit position 1,2 degrees west of Cyprus, Greece, Bulgaria and the Vatican. CNA/MF/RM/MK/2001

    [06] Cyprus – Kenya - Medical supplies

    Nicosia, Sept 20 (CNA) – Cyprus has handed over medical supplies to Kenya during a special ceremony held at Kenya's Ministry of Tourism and Information.

    Speaking at the ceremony Cyprus High Commissioner to Kenya Michalis Stavrinos who along with Kenya's and Irinoupoleos Bishop Makarios handed over the supplies, said another part of medical supplies provided by the Cyprus Government would soon be sent to Kenya. CNA/ÍĚÁ/MK/2001
