[01] All Cyprus Trade Union Forum - Declaration
Nicosia, Aug 31 (CNA) -- The Permanent Coordination Committee of the All
Cyprus Trade Union Forum of Greek and Turkish Cypriots has reaffirmed its
commitment to achieve peace in Cyprus and to see the island join the
European Union for the benefit of all Cypriots.
In a joint declaration, issued on the occasion of the World Peace Day, the
16 Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot Organisations comprising the Forum,
also reaffirm their decision to work towards every direction to achieve a
peaceful solution to the Cyprus problem and the reunification of the
island.

Nicosia, Aug 31 (CNA) -- President of Cyprus' Democratic Rally (DISI) Nicos
Anastassiades has expressed the government's gratitude towards China for
its consistent support in efforts to achieve a solution to its political
problem.
According to a press release issued by DISI, Anasstasiades, heading a party
delegation on a five-day visit to China, was received by several high level
Chinese officials, who expressed their appreciation for Cyprus' support of
the policy advocating "one China", the Republic's unwavering condemnation
of the bombing of the Chinese embassy in Belgrade and China's bid to host
the 2008 Olympic Games.
