He also expressed the view that an eventual return to the dialogue by the Turkish side is due to the realization that it has become politically isolated. The minister's comments come in the wake of a statement by Turkish Cypriot leader Rauf Denktash that he will decide whether to resume the talks he abandoned last year after his meeting with the UN Secretary General in New York. Turkish premier Bulent Ecevit referred to the need to continue the dialogue on the basis of what he called "the realities" in Cyprus. "There is a strong indication that they (Turkish side) may return to the negotiating table without fulfilling any of the preconditions they have been putting forward," Kasoulides told journalists at a press conference he gave with his Luxembourg counterpart Lydie Polfer, who is concluding a two- day official visit to Cyprus.
