    [02] Cyprus - Turkish military planes - Mass violations

    Nicosia, Jul 20 (CNA) - A total of 8 Turkish military planes violated Cyprus' airspace today, the 27th anniversary since the Turkish invasion and occupation of 37 percent of the island's territory.

    Defence Ministry Spokesman, Andreas Yorkas told CNA that four F16's and an equal number of F4's illegally flew over Cyprus from 1100 to 1130 local time (0800 to 0830 GMT). Six of them flew over the Turkish army military parade in occupied Nicosia while the other two flew over the Turkish occupied area of Apostle Andreas, to the most eastern tip of the island.     [03] Cyprus - Luxembourg Minister of Foreign Affairs - Visit

    Nicosia, Jul 20 (CNA) -- Luxembourg's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Lydie Polfer will pay a two-day official visit to Cyprus, July 23 and 24.

    During her stay here Polfer will have talks with her Cypriot counterpart Ioannis Kasoulides, with whom she will give a joint press conference, an official release issued here today reads. CNA/ÁÁR/MK/2001

    [04] President Clerides - G8 - Foreign Ministers - Cyprus

    Nicosia, Jul 20 (CNA) -- Cyprus President Glafcos Clerides said here today that the paragraph on Cyprus, included in the conclusions adopted by the Foreign Ministers of the Group of Eight most industrialised countries in the world (G8) "for the first time clarifies that a settlement of the Cyprus problem must provide for an undivided Cyprus and comply with the UN relevant resolutions".

    In their conclusions G8 Foreign Ministers, who convened yesterday and the day before in Rome, recall the Okinawa G8 Summit statement on Cyprus and renew their commitment "to support the efforts of the UN Secretary General to find a just and lasting settlement that protects the fundamental interests of all parties in an undivided Cyprus giving full consideration to relevant UN Security Council resolutions".     [05] New Jersey General Assembly - Resolution - Cyprus

    Nicosia, Jul 20 (CNA) -- The General Assembly of the State of New Jersey (US) adopted yesterday a resolution by which it condemns the Turkish invasion and occupation of Cyprus, commemorates the "solemn 27 years anniversary of the invasion" and extends to the people of Cyprus "the House's sincere best wishes".

    "After 27 years the time has come for a solution to the problem in Cyprus, a solution based on all relevant UN resolutions, which will reunite the island and its people and where all Cypriots will be able to live in conditions of peace, security and full enjoyment of human rights" the resolution reads.
