0945:CYPPRESS:01[01] Cyprus Rally - Subaru - Temperature reading systemLimassol, Jun 3 (CNA) - A new driver temperature reading system to analyse the effects of heat on the drivers, was tested in Cyprus by Subaru's racing team Dr. John Allingham, during the Cyprus Rally 2001, taking place in the coastal town of Limassol between 1 and 3 June.According to a Subaru team press release, at the start of leg one on Friday each driver swallowed a capsule containing a temperature sensor and transmitter. Every ten seconds the device relayed the drivers' core body temperature to a receiver box fitted to the roll cage in the car. CNA/RM/RG/2001 0950:CYPPRESS:02[02] Cyprus Rally - Second leg - Results - Third legLimassol, Jun 3 (CNA) - Richard Burns in a Subaru won yesterday's second leg of the Cyprus Rally 2001 followed by Briton Colin McRae in a Ford and Finnish Marcus Gronholm in a Peugeot, while many of the front-runners, such as Francois Delecour of Ford and Kenneth Eriksson of Hyundai, were forced to retire due to mechanical problems during yesterday's special stages.Just 35 cars out of 50, which started yesterday, are taking part in today's third and last leg of the Rally, while a tough race among the front-runners is expected to take place during today's leg.
