0945:CYPPRESS:01[01] Cyprus Rally - Subaru - Temperature reading systemLimassol, Jun 3 (CNA) - A new driver temperature reading system to analyse the effects of heat on the drivers, was tested in Cyprus by Subaru's racing team Dr. John Allingham, during the Cyprus Rally 2001, taking place in the coastal town of Limassol between 1 and 3 June.According to a Subaru team press release, at the start of leg one on Friday each driver swallowed a capsule containing a temperature sensor and transmitter. Every ten seconds the device relayed the drivers' core body temperature to a receiver box fitted to the roll cage in the car.
