House Plenary session - Law - Courts - Media

Nicosia, Mar 9 (CNA) - The House of Representatives plenary session last night passed a bill into law, prohibiting filming, photographing and reporting from the Courts, courtrooms, the yard and the transportation of suspects or convicts to and from the Courts.

All political party groups in the House expressed positive views on the bill, noting that media sometimes defame and brand suspects, despite the possibility they may be acquitted, without clearing their name properly in the future when they are found not guilty.
