Belarus Minister - Cyprus - Visit
Nicosia, Mar 4 (CNA) - Belarus Minister of Transport and Communications
Alyaksandr Lukashou arrived in Cyprus yesterday on a four-day visit, during
which Belarus and Cyprus will sign a cooperation agreement in international
road transport.
Speaking on his arrival, Lukashou referred to the friendly relations
between Belarus and Cyprus, and expressed certainty that his visit would
contribute to further strengthening these ties.

Cyprus - Foot and mouth disease - Agriculture Minister
Nicosia, Mar 4 (CNA) - A meeting will be held tomorrow at the Agriculture,
Natural Resources and Environment Ministry, in order to set up a
"protective shield" along the ceasefire line in Cyprus, after the foot and
mouth disease appeared in Turkey.
Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment Minister, Costas
Themistocleous, said today that foot and mouth disease cases in Turkey
constitute "a most distressing development", as the disease may spread to
Cyprus, through the northern areas occupied by Turkey since it invaded the
island in 1974.
