by Riana Magidou Limassol, Oct 5 (CNA)-- The Parliamentary Assembly of the
Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) should examine
ways to contribute to the process of finding a solution to the Cypurs
problem, Assembly President Andrian Severin told CNA after his meeting with
House President Spyros Kyprianou, on the sidelines of the seminar on
organised crime and corruption, organised by the OSCE in the coastal town
of Limasol.
On his part, Kyprianou said Severin intends to set up an OSCE group, which
would help promote the implementation of UN decisions on Cyprus.

By Riana Magidou Limassol, Oct 5 (CNA) - Governor of the Central Bank of
Cyprus Afxentis Afxentiou today stressed the need for international
cooperation and coordination to combat money laundering and corruption.
Speaking at the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe
Parliamentary Assembly seminar on "Organised Crime and Corruption" taking
place in this coastal town, Afxentiou suggested that anti-money laundering
and anti- corruption measures "should form an integral part of a
comprehensive programme of economic and financial developments."

[03] Cyprus Spokesman – UN Secretary-General
Nicosia, Oct 5 (CNA) – The Cyprus government has described a recent
statement by UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan on the Cyprus peace effort as
"particularly important", noting that it puts the record straight following
different interpretations of an earlier statement by Annan at the beginning
of the last round of UN-led proximity talks.
Government Spokesman Michalis Papapetrou made special reference at his
daily press briefing to Annan's position that the comprehensive settlement,
to be negotiated, should respect UN resolutions.
