[01] Famagusta - Early day motion - House of Commons
Nicosia, Jul 31 (CNA) -- Famagusta could be a test bed which will prove
that Greek and Turkish Cypriots can live and work together, despite 26 of
forced separation as a result of the continuing Turkish occupation of
Cyprus' northern areas, an early day motion notes.
The motion, tabled by two Labour MPs, Edward O'Hara and Tom Cox, to the
British House of Commons, calls on the House to note with sadness the
annual commemoration events Famagusta municipality is organising to demand
yet again the liberation of the city, visible through the barbed wire but
inaccessible to its inhabitants.
