Larnaca, Feb 8 (CNA) - Former South African President and Nobel Peace Prize winner Frederik de Klerk has expressed the view that the international community has not given enough attention to the problem of Cyprus, noting that the superpowers tend to underestimate some conflicts while handling others.

Speaking on his arrival to Cyprus, his first visit here, the South African politician also said the world is getting smaller and borders are no longer as important, making the opening up of communication channels particular meaningful.
