    [01] US Ambassador - Helsinki Summit

    Nicosia, Dec 20 (CNA) -- US Ambassador to Cyprus Donald Bandler expressed today his country's hope the European Union Helsinki Summit conclusions would advance talks on the resolution of differences in Cyprus and between Greece and Turkey.

    Replying to questions after a meeting here with Justice and Public Order Minister Nicos Koshis, the UN Ambassador said his government shared "the generally very positive views that have been expressed both in Cyprus and elsewhere in the EU and the US about the Helsinki Summit and its results".

    [02] Cyprus - US - Legal Assistance Treaty

    Nicosia, Dec 20 (CNA) -- Justice and Public Order Minister Nicos Koshis and US Ambassador to Cyprus Donald Bandler signed here today a Treaty for Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters aimed at strengthening already good relations between the two countries' law enforcement authorities.

    Speaking after the signing of the Treaty Koshis pointed out that "crime has no borders and it is our duty to ensure that borders do not prevent the administration of justice."
