Limassol, Sep 5 (CNA) -- Cyprus' national football team clash here tonight
with the Israeli national team, in a crucial Euro-2000 qualifier.
The group 6 match is a crunch game for both teams, with the victor
having a realistic chance of qualifying for the finals in 2000 that will be
held in Belgium and Holland.

Nicosia, Sep 5 (CNA) -- US State Department Special Coordinator for Cyprus
Tom Weston arrived here last night on his first visit to the island since
his recent appointment to the post.
Weston will be received tomorrow morning with President Glafcos
Clerides.

Kyprianou left today for Germany and Poland.
In Germany he will attend, along with his counterparts of all Council
of Europe member-states, the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the
Bundestag and the Bundesrat to take place in Bonn and Berlin on September 5
to 7.
