[01] Overseas Cypriots - Meeting
Nicosia, Aug 22 (CNA) -- Greek Cypriots from all corners of the world will
begin a five-day meeting in Nicosia today to discuss the Cyprus problem,
their role in promoting peace and humanitarian issues, and how to bring
together the younger generation of Cypriots living abroad.
The deliberations will be opened by Foreign Minister Ioannis
Kasoulides, on behalf of President Glafcos Clerides.
Gregoris Niotis, Greek Deputy Foreign Minister, in charge of issues
concerning Greeks living abroad, is in Cyprus for the 11th World Congress
of Overseas Cypriots.
House President Spyros Kyprianou, the Primate of the Orthodox Church
of Cyprus Archbishop Chrysostomos and party leaders or representatives are
among dignitaries to address the meeting tonight.
