Nicosia, May 25 (CNA) -- Cypriot deputy Takis Hadjidemetriou was due to
leave today for Petrozavodsk, Russia, to take part at a meeting of the
Committee on Culture and Education of the Council of Europe Parliamentary
Assembly.
The four-day meeting will hold a hearing on the present situation and
perspectives for the development of the Uralic languages and development
prospects for the people of the region.
Participants will also meet with representatives of the different
national minorities and visit Petrozavodsk university.
