1450:CYPPRESS:01[01] Heaslip and Abou visit PylaNicosia, Nov 30 (CNA) -- The mixed Greek and Turkish Cypriot village of Pyla should be an example for the whole of Cyprus European Union (EU) Irish Presidency Representative for Cyprus, Kester Heaslip, said today.Heaslip, along with EU Commission official, Serge Abou, visited the mixed village today to experience co-existence of the two communities on the island and to visit the Irish Police Contigent participating in the UN Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP). Speaking to reporters, Heaslip said he found it very interesting ''to see how the two communities can live and work together'' stressing that to his mind ''this mixed village could be an example for all of Cyprus.'' ''Everything I have seen so far underlines the cooperation between the two communities'', he noted, adding that this was a very interesting experience for him but even more for his colleagues from the European Commission. On his part, Abou also described Pyla as ''an example of cooperation of the two communities'' but at the same time noted that ''at this precise moment there is the serious problem of unemployment especially in the Turkish Cypriot community.'' The two officials discussed problems the villagers face with representatives of both communities and heard their proposals on which as Abou said they ''will reflect on and we will report to Brussels to see what we can do in this respect.'' ''We will probably be back or stay in contact with representatives of the population and of course with the UN representative through EU High Commissioner for Cyprus Gilles Anouil.
