    [01] Cypriot MPs visit South Africa's defence exhibition

    Nicosia, Nov 10 (CNA) -- A delegation of the Defence Committee of the Cyprus House of Representatives left today for South Africa to visit the Defence Exposition of South Africa ''DEXSA '96'', at the invitation of the country's Defence Minister Joe Modise.

    The delegation is made up of MP Takis Hadjidemetriou, Committee Chairman, and MPs Antonis Karas, Costas Papacostas and Marios Matsakis, members of the House Defence Committee.

    The Cypriot MPs will also have meetings with South Africa's Joint Parliamentary Defence Committee and representatives of the Greek Cypriot Brotherhood in Johannesburg.

    The delegation will convey a message from House President Spyros Kyprianou to Dr Frene Noshir Ginwala, Speaker of South Africa's National Assembly.

    [02] Interior Minister flies to Greece

    Nicosia, Nov 10 (CNA) -- Cyprus' Interior Minister Dinos Michaelides left today for Athens to address a seminar from November 11 to 13, to be attended by press attaches of Cypriot and Greek embassies around the world.

    During his stay in the Greek capital, the Cypriot Minister will have meetings with Defence Minister Akis Tsohatzopoulos and Interior Minister Alecos Papadopoulos.

    Michaelides will convey a message to the seminar from President Glafcos Clerides while Demetris Reppas, the Greek Press Minister and Government Spokesman, will convey a message from Premier Costas Simitis.

    Among those who will address the Athens seminar are the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus and Greece, Alecos Michaelides and Theodoros Pangalos, Greek Defence Minister Akis Tsohatzopoulos, Cyprus Government Spokesman Yiannakis Cassoulides and Greek Deputy Foreign Minister Christos Rozakis.
