During KEVE's annual general meeting yesterday, Rologis received 18 votes as against nine votes received by Demetris Ioannou.

Rologis is now expected to step down from his present post as President of Cyprus Airways, the island's national carrier.

The three KEVE Vice-Presidents are Christakis Georgiades, Takis Kyriakides and Paris Lenas.

[02] Cypriot MPs to take part in IPU meeting in China

The parliamentary delegation is made up of MPs Nicos Anastasiades, Andreas Philippou, Stathis Kittis, Yiannakis Omerou, and Androula Vassiliou.

Mrs Vassiliou, former first lady, flew to Beijing yesterday, to participate in a special session on women's issues during the IPU conference.

This particular meeting is held twice a year and was staged in Cyprus in 1991.

The IPU conference with deal with political, social and economic issues. A special debate will be held on food and the basic right to nourishment.

Special sessions will deal with issues such as the respect of human rights and the rights of women and children.

The Cypriot MPs will take part in a meeting of the IPU Monitoring Committee on Cyprus.

[03] Magazine identifies one of Isaac's killers

The Greek-language weekly magazine ''Selides'' (Pages) revealed through photographic evidence that one of Isaac's killers is Mehmet Aslan, President of the ''Grey Wolves'' branch in occupied Cyprus.

Turkish leaders and Turkish Cypriot leader Rauf Denktash have admitted that members of this Turkey-based extreme islamic organisation took part in the Dherynia incidents, during which Isaac was savagely beaten to death while more than 40 others were injured.

The magazine published ten successive colour pictures, showing every step of the victim's brutal beating to death by Turkish extremists, including so-called policemen (in uniforms) of the occupation regime.

Aslan is shown to be the first person chasing Isaac in the buffer zone and beating him on the head with an iron bar after he fell down. Acting in self defence, Isaac forced Aslan to kneel. Then Aslan stood up and started over again kicking and beating the unconscious youth.

A number of other Turkish civilians and so-called policemen of the occupation regime repeatedly hit Isaac on every part of his body using stones and iron and wooden bars.

''Selides'' quotes Turkey's ''Grey Wolves'' President Azmi Karamahmutoglu, who said in an interview published in the Turkish magazine ''Tempo'', on August 28, that members of his group were transferred to the occupied north.

Turkish Cypriot daily ''Kibris'' reported on August 12 that a meeting took place between the two branches outside the group's offices in the occupied northern part of the capital Nicosia.

Aslan was the one who led some 150 members of the extremist group to Dherynia, as the Turks did not know the surroundings, when he heard that Greek Cypriot bikers were heading there.

He was the first to cross into the UN-controlled buffer zone giving instructions to the rest to arm with iron and wooden bars, according to the magazine's sources.

This is the third person to be identified for the killings of Tasos Isaac and his cousin Solomos Solomou, 26, three days later, (August 14), at the same place, when he climbed a flagpole to bring the Turkish flag down.

The Cyprus government revealed Tuesday the identities of two of the killers of Solomou.

They are Kenan Akin, from Turkey, so-called minister of agriculture, forests and natural resources of the illegal regime, and Erdal Emanet, also from Turkey, commander of the regime's special forces.

Both killings were shown live on local television channels.

[04] Foreign Minister meets Swedish official

The Cypriot Minister briefed the Swedish official on the latest developments in the Cyprus problem and the island's bid to become a full member of the European Union.

In a brief statement afterwards, Falkman said Sweden was following closely developments in the Cyprus problem, particularly because of Cyprus' accession course towards the European Union.

Cyprus, which has been divided since the 1974 Turkish invasion, applied for full EU membership in July 1990.

This east Mediterranean island republic signed an association agreement with the European Community in 1972 and a Customs Union agreement in 1987.

Present at the Michaelides-Falkman meeting was also Thanos Michael, Permanent Secretary of the European Union General Directorate at the Foreign Ministry.

[06] President reiterates adherence to peaceful means

The President has also appealed to both Greek and Turkish Cypriots to ''do all they can to defuse the situation for the sake of peace.''

The President issued a statement here today in the aftermath of last month's brutal murders of two unarmed Greek Cypriot demonstrators by Turkish extremists and Sunday's killing of a soldier serving with the Turkish occupation forces.

''I feel the need to make it absolutely clear that we have not and shall not relinquish our intention to continue, with more vigour, our efforts to find a solution of the Cyprus problem through peace negotiations,'' the President said in his statement.

Such peace talks, he added, would be under the aegis of the UN Secretary-General and will be based on the two high level agreements, signed between the Greek and Turkish Cypriot communities in the 1970s, and UN resolutions on Cyprus providing for a bizonal, bicommunal federal Cyprus.

''We shall take all necessary measures to avert any further escalation of existing tension. This is why I appeal to Greek and Turkish Cypriots to do all they can to reduce tension for the sake of peace,'' the President added.

The President pointed out that the tragic events of the past month must not be interpreted in a way that presents the Greek and Turkish Cypriot communities as being unable ''to live under conditions of peace and prosperity in a common home, Cyprus.''

The statement acknowledges that there is ''particular concern in Cyprus because of the prevailing tension.''
