  • [01] New mobile phone charges

    By Rita Kyriakides

THE CYPRUS Telecommunications Authority (CyTA) is introducing two new packages for mobile phone users that will come into affect tomorrow.

Mobile phone users will be able to choose a package of charges for frequent use and low use or to remain at the current charges for normal use.

The package for frequent use is aimed at people who make many phone calls with a £10 subscription fee and all calls charged at 4 cents per minute, 24 hours a day.

The low-use package is for those who do not use their mobile phones often with a £4 subscription fee and calls charged at 10 cents per minute 24 hours a day.

These packages are in addition to the normal use charges, with a £6 subscription fee and calls being charged at 6 cents per minute during peak hours and 3 cents per minute during off peak.

Charges for all other services will remain as they are for all packages.

Customers can change to any package free of charge for the first six months, and will receive confirmation via a text message to their mobile phone within one working day.

To apply for the packages call 0800 8004 for the low-use package, 0800 8010 for frequent use, and 0800 8006 for normal use from a mobile phone, or contact the CyTA customer services office by dialling 132 from a mobile phone.

The cruise will include a half-day excursion on the island of Lindos and a night out in Rhodes.

Prices begin at £45 per person.
