YUGOSLAV DAILY SURVEY THE STATEMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF YUGOSLAVIA The Government of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia condemns most strongly the massacre of the innocent civilian population in Sarajevo. F.R. of Yugoslavia has always condemned such acts, regardless of which side committed them. It is necessary to carry out detailed investigation, find and punish exemplarily the perpetrators of this heinous crime. This latest act of barbarism has a political background and is a blow to peace and ongoing peace efforts. The F.R. of Yugoslavia expresses hope that the peace process will continue and that, with the assistance of the international community, the warning parties will menage to find final peaceful solution to the crisis in former Bosnia-Herzegovina. The Government of the F.R. of Yugoslavia is firmly committed to the quest for a solution to the crisis in the former Yugoslavia through political means. It is necessary to take all measures in order to prevent the attempts to stop the latest peace initiatives and the escalation of the conflict in former Bosnia-Herzegovina which could have unforeseeable consequences for this entire region and Europe.
