NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

TREBINJE - Republika Srpska /RS/ has no intention to live from humanitarian aid, stated in Trebinje the president of RS Biljana Plavsic, where she stayed in the framework of work visit to the Eastern Herzegovina. The president Plavsic assessed, after the talks with the leadership of municipality Trebinje about economic problems and work of RS Government, that RS needs only the initial capital for start-up of economic, that is industrial capacities.

BANJA LUKA - The counsellor of the president of RS for economic issues Rajko Tomas assessed the decision of RS Government about introducing double currency system in Republic as extracted move, which followed the decision of Yugoslav Government, as he said, for extraordinarily high devaluation of Yugoslav dinar and because of that, as he added, there is no need for making unnecessary speculations, but, "simply, gave right to all market beneficiaries to use legally German Mark as the legal tender in RS".

SARAJEVO - The Provisional Electoral Commission announced that it passed three Articles related to the ban on nomination of parties and candidates and campaign for next September's elections. In the Article 7.10, related to the ban for nomination, is said that not any person, which is sentenced by Hague Tribunal, or under indictment of Hague Tribunal, who did not comply to the order to appear before the court, can not be nominated or perform any public function for which it could be nominated or elected in the territory of B&H.

DOBOJ - The representatives of RS Government and Government of Federation B&H /FB&H/ Milorad Dodik and Edhem Bicakcic will sign tomorrow in Doboj already harmonised agreement on forming public corporation of railway traffic in B&H, composed of two railway companies from both entities. In that way will be verified multi-monthly negotiations of expert teams of Railway corporations of RS and FB&H, which were finalised in Paris last month.

PODGORICA - For around two weeks will be established regular air-lines between Podgorica and Banja Luka and Sarajevo-Podgorica-Tivat, which maintenance will be performed by "Montenegroairlines" - announced in Podgorica Jusuf Kalamperovic, the minister of sea transport and traffic of Montenegro, after the two days visit to Sarajevo/ "With the president of RS Government Milorad Dodik and minister of traffic and communications of RS Marko Pavic we agreed establishing air-line Banja Luka -Podgorica, i.d. Tivat, and in Sarajevo we agreed the relation Sarajevo-Podgorica" - stated minister Kalamperovic.

SARAJEVO - The U.S. government agency for development USAID approved 75 million $US of assistance for renewal and development of RS and Federation B&H /FB&H/. The agreement on this aid signed the co-presiding in Council of Ministers of B&H Boro Bosic and Haris Silajdzic, and from American side, U. S. Ambassador to Sarajevo Richard Causlarich and director of USAID Mission in B&H Greg Buck.

BIJELJINA - The Dayton Agreement must be fully implemented, i.e. must be respected human rights, secured freedom of movement in the whole territory of B&H and return of refugees, and implemented the economic reconstruction, stated in Bijeljina the deputy High Representative Hans Schumacher. Participating in the work of public tribune with the topic implementation of Dayton Agreement Schumacher announced that for RS is secured 30 to 40 % of total economic assistance for B&H and stressed that it is the result of positive policy of RS Government.

BIJELJINA - If on the next session of Municipal Assembly of Bijeljina were not formed new municipal administration, i.e. if for second vice-president was not elected the representative of the Coalition for B&H, Bijeljina will on the Donator's Conference remain without economic assistance, warned the deputy High Representative in B&H Hans Schumacher.

BIJELJINA - The delegates of the Serbian Radical Party /SRS of RS will demand from RS Government to behave in accordance with the Constitution and Laws of Republic, and if they do not provide that, radicals will initiate the procedure of voting confidence for Government, stated the president of SR RS Nikola Poplasen at the press conference in Bijeljina.

NEW YORK - The member of Board of RS for cooperation with the Hague Tribunal Darko Trifunovic stated in New York that he possess the original report of the Dutch battalion of UNPROFOR about the fact that Srebrenica was occupied by military forces correctly - reports the SRNA correspondent from New York. At the press conference in the Journalists' Club in the seat of UN presented data that on the list of 8,000 missing Moslems, submitted by Government in Federal part Sarajevo, are the names of Moslem soldiers who died in 1992, 1993 in the battles around Srebrenica, and he presented also the photographs of their tombstones.

SARAJEVO - The IPTF and UN spokesman Liam McDowel stated in Sarajevo that "in the case of Goran Vasic were undertaken the specific steps, because the police from Sarajevo canton during arresting possessed the long arms", and that "Vasic had several kicks into head, which he has got before and during getting into vehicle". According to him, the claims against four persons from MUP Sarajevo were issued, and use of force in the future arresting will be taken into consideration.

TREBINJE - The Serbian People's Union /SNS/ offered for coming September's elections honest approach to the Serbian people who wants national state and democracy, which is possible to realise by just and legal work of state institutions, stated in Trebinje the president of this party and president of Republika Srpska /RS/ Biljana Plavsic. Participating in the public tribune "Actual political situation in RS" president Plavsic pointed on, as she stated, "catastrophic policy lead by the former state organs" and noted that their policy "was leading RS only into chasm".

GLAMOC - The strategic reserve forces of NATO performed on the polygon "Decisive Barbara" in Glamoc, in the framework of exercise "The Dynamic Response '98", combined tactic operation will live ammunition shooting, by which they wanted to confirm the decisiveness of alliance to secure permanent peace in republika srpska /RS/ and Federation B&H. On the exercise was shown the combat readiness of combined reserve forces of NATO, comprised by troops of six states - U.S.A., Holland, Romania, Turkey, Poland and Italy, and which task is to help SFOR units in performing their mandate.

GLAMOC - The minister of Defence of RS the general Manojlo Milovanovic assessed in Glamoc that the live ammunition shooting of the Strategic reserve forces of NATO represent the classic military exercise with use of lot of weapons and ammunition in the narrow space, what can impress civilians, but not the professionals. Commenting the task of the exercise on the polygon "Decisive Barbara", announced as the demonstration of ability and decisiveness of NATO to secure peace and democratic processes in B&H, Milovanovic stated for SRNA that "establishing peace by means of arm threats and demonstration of force do not lead to the final goal".

GLAMOC - The head of General Staff of RS Army /VRS/ general Momir Talic confirmed for SRNA in Glamoc that by the live ammunition shooting of the Strategic reserve forces of NATO on the polygon "The Decisive Barbara" was demonstrated the powerful fire mightiness of different weapons along with full assistance of combat units of different combat branches.

SRBINJE - The director of Clinic centre in Srbinje prof. M.D. of plastic- reconstruction surgery Borisa Starovic announced for SRNA that five Columbia and American surgeons will arrive to Srbinje tomorrow, where they will together with doctors and medicine staff of the Clinic centre perform surgical operations and examine patients. According to him, this team of surgeons will start working on Sunday, April 5 at 16,00 h, when they will perform examinations and preparations for operations of 25 patients, which will start on Monday, April 6.

MODRICA - The workers of the Institute for healing, rehabilitation and social protection of the chronical psychic patients "Jakes" in Garevac near Modrica started with work, after the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of RS met partly the demands of the strike board.

PODGORICA - The president of Montenegro Milo DJukanovic assessed in Podgorica that the referendum about participation of international representatives in the dialogue of Serbian Authorities with Serbian Albanians do not offer the solution, but lead FR Yugoslavia into new confrontations with the world. About solving Kosovo problem president Djukanovic talked with His Holly Highness Metropolitan Crnogorsko-primorski MR. Amfilohije and His Holy Highness bishop Rasko-Prizrenski Artemije and president of the Serbian Resistance Movement Momcilo Trajkovic.
