NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

BANJA LUKA - The president of Republika Srpska /RS/ Biljana Plavsic received in Banja Luka in the first protocol meeting the Libyan Ambassador to B&H Ibrahim Ali Tagi Yury, with whom she talked about implementation of Dayton Agreement with the special accent on Annex 7. As announced from the Cabinet of president of RS, they also talked about economic cooperation between RS and Libya.

PRIJEDOR - The minister of education in RS Government Nenad Suzic talked with the leadership of the municipality Prijedor about issues of renewal and reorganisation of schools in that region. In the short statement for journalists Suzic said that it is necessary to perform certain changes in order to crate better conditions for work and conducting curriculum. According to his assessment, Prijedor will be one of the first municipalities in which will timely and in accordance with the decisions of Government be formed new school boards and made election of new directors in primary and secondary school.

BANJA LUKA - The president of Serbian Radical Party of Krajina and Posavina /SSKiP/ Predrag Lazarevic, stated at the press conference that "Serbian troops would expel Albanian rebels from Kosovo, enter into north territory of Albania and pacify that region from where terrorists are coming". Lazarevic supported Serbian policy in Kosovo and stressed that all states in the world are fighting terrorism by all available means of legal state.

SARAJEVO - The spokesman of the Office of High Representative for civil affairs /OHR/ Eshly Barn stated for SRNA that the establishment of sport associations at the level of both entities is fully normal, acceptable and that "it is the logical principle that one state has one team". Commenting the question of SRNA journalist, how OHR can demand acknowledgement of only unique B&H representation, and not sport organisations of RS and FB&H, when by Dayton Agreement had determined that sport is under the competence of entities, Eshly said that by peace accords sport was solved "rather generally".

PRISTINA - More than 50,000 Albanians from Kosovo who are protesting from early morning in Pristina dispersed around the noon without intervention of police - reported the special SRNA reporter from the site. The Albanian protesters, who gathered in the Vidovdan street, were going towards Philosophic Faculty with aim to make crowd and mass before the hotel "Grand" in which is temporarily more than 100 foreign journalists and 15 foreign TV teams. According to assessments of viewers, protesters wanted to provoke intervention of police before the foreign reporters, as well to show mass solidarity with terroristic organisation "Liberation Army of Kosovo".

PODGORICA - From Kosovo into Crna Gora fled more than 1,000 persons, out of which 600 Moslems, 200 ALbanians, 60 Montenegrians, 50 Serbs and 50 Gypsies. Almost all who fled, as SRNA learns, went to their relatives in Ulcinj and other places on the ultimate south of Montenegro.

LONDON - USA, France, Italy, Great Britain and Germany agreed at the session of Contact group in London about the plan of action and measures y which they will make pressure on president of FR Yugoslavia Slobodan Milosevic to stop the bloodshed in Kosovo, announced diplomats. Russia did not agree to undertake immediate punitive measures against official Belgrade. Russian diplomats agreed only with the proposal to call the former Spanish premier Felipe Gonzales to broker in Kosovo on behalf of OSCE.

BRUSSELS - The Secretary General of NATO Xavier Solana will visit Banja Luka and Brcko on Thursday, March 12, was announced in the seat of Alliance in Brussels. As announced, Solana would talk with president of RS Biljana Plavsic and for the first time with president of RS Government Milorad Dodik.

bELGRADE - The special US deputy for Balkans Robert Gelbard will depart to Belgrade in early evening hours, was conformed to SRNA in US embassy. Gelbard will be received by Slobodan Milosevic, president of FR Yugoslavia, and the topic will be situation on Kosovo. As announced, US envoy will tomorrow morning visit Pristina, but the embassy in Belgrade could not confirm with whom he will talk in Pristina.

PALE - The deputy director of the primary school "Pale" Radomir Kujundzic came across the land mine on the spring of river Miljacka, near Pale. As stated for SRNA by the deputy chief of Police station in Pale Vojo Krajisnik Kujundzic was warned about existence of land mines in that area, marked with the signs of warning.
