NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SARAJEVO - The president in the B&H Presidency from Republika Srpska (RS) Momcilo Krajisnik received in a protocol visit in Pale the Russian Ambassador to Sarajevo Filip Filipovic Sidorsky. "I am glad that I have spoken with his Excellency and I want to continue the good cooperation with the Russian Embassy in Sarajevo. We hope Russia will continue to be active in the implementation of the Dayton peace accord in B&H", Krajisnik stated after the meeting. The Ambassador Sidorsky, who officially took up his duties three days ago, emphasised that this was one of the first official meetings he had had in B&H. "Our conversation was put in a wider context and we discussed many issues, especially relations between Russia and RS and Russia and B&H", Sidorsky explained.

NEW YORK - Efforts and pressures of a part of the international community on UN Security Council to began dealing with FRY again, attempting to internationalise the crisis in Kosovo, are increasing after recent bloody clashes between Serbian police and Albanian terrorists in Kosovo. The U.S. Ambassador to UN Richardson confirmed there were initiatives for UN Security Council to be engaged in Kosovo, but he said first of all a decision has to be made by the Contact Group, which is due to have a session in London on Monday.

ROME - U.S. and Italian Foreign Affairs Ministers Madeleine Albright and Lamberto Dini expressed in Rome common stance that the crisis in Kosovo had to be politically solved, DPA reports. After talks with the Italian colleague Mrs. Albright accused the Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic for being responsible for new escalation of conflicts in Kosovo, but did not condemn Albanian terroristic actions.

SKOPLJE - Yugoslav Embassy in Skoplje, the greatest Macedonian opposition party VMRO-DPMNE and Socialist Party of Macedonia severely condemned rallies of Albanian extremists held in Skoplje and Tetovo yesterday, where they supported Albanian terrorism in Kosovo. "Nowhere in the world, nor in Serbia as well, terrorism can be tolerated, therefore attempts to equalise all terroristic actions and Serbia's measures to protect her citizens are unacceptable for FRY", is said in an announcement of the Yugoslav Embassy in Skoplje. It is also said in the announcement that: "We are assessing the mentioned rallies, which are supporting separatism and terrorism in Kosovo, as unbecoming interfering with internal affairs of FRY and attempt to internationalise the Kosovo problem".
