ZAGREB - The Prime Minister of Republika Srpska (RS) Milorad Dodik and his associates reached with representatives of Croatian Government an agreement that a joint commission, dealing with the problem of refugees and displaced persons, would begin working in 14 day's term. During the meeting of the two governmental delegations forming of a commission of experts has been agreed as well. The commission is due to have a meeting in seven days in order to consider the possibility of opening border crossings and establishing of railroad transportation. Dodik emphasised that "RS Government is determined to establish cooperation with the Republic of Croatia and to solve issues of visas and regime of crossing the border as soon as possible". The Croatian Foreign Affairs Minister emphasised that "RS Government supported opening of a general consulate in Banjaluka".

SARAJEVO - The international community has to urgently solve the case of the arrested Serb Goran Vasic and enable his extradition to RS authorities - was assessed in Pale during a meeting of the President in B&H Presidency from RS Momcilo Krajisnik and delegation of the Protest Board "Who Will Be the Next". As it has been announced from Krajisnik's Cabinet, the delegation of the citizens of Srpsko Sarajevo had informed Krajisnik about all facts related to Vasic's arrest, done by the federal police on IEBL (inter-entity boundary line), using long-barrel rifles.

BANJALUKA - The first vice-president of Presidency of Serbian Democratic Party (SDS) Dragan Cavic warned in Banjaluka about an absurd fact that this party had not been participating in executive authority too, although it had the largest number of delegates in the RS National Assembly. At a press- conference Cavic reminded that SDS was constituting legislative and executive power at the local level, with or without coalition partners, in about 70% of RS municipalities. Speaking of current political situation, Cavic warned that "the arbitration process for Brcko must not be subject of party disagreements, but an issue of survival and the future of RS".

SAMAC - Miroslav Tadic (born in 1937) and Milan Simic (born in 1969), who were indicted by the International War Crimes Tribunal in Hague three years ago with alleged war crimes, voluntarily have gone to the Hague, in order to prove their innocence. Both of them emphasised before great number of local and foreign reporters that they were leaving of their own free will and not under pressure, and that they had had confidence in the main prosecutor of the Tribunal Mrs. Louise Arbour. Accused Tadic expressed hope that his decision might be a beginning for no longer anathematising of Serbian people.

PODGORICA - Early parliamentary elections in Montenegro will be held on May 31, Montenegrin independent media report, citing sources close to the leadership of Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), which supports the President of the Republic Milo Djukanovic.

BELGRADE - The director of the home office of Serbian Democratic Party (SDS) Gojko Klickovic announced in Belgrade that an SDS annual electoral conference would be held in Pale on April 22 and 23 this year. In a statement for SRNA he explained that "election for the highest organs of the party, the main board, the Presidency and the President of SDS Presidency would be carried out" at this party meeting. Klickovic reminded that holding of the electoral conference had been scheduled as requested by municipal boards of the party, which 35,000 members had asked to examine legitimacy of the Presidency, prepare documents for the annual conference of SDS, i. e. to finish off the Programme and Statute of the party.

AMSTERDAM, BRUSSELS - The main prosecutor of the International War Crimes Tribunal in Hague Louise Arbour welcomed in Amsterdam voluntary surrender of two Serbs - Miroslav Tadic and Milan Simic, indicted with alleged war crimes by the Tribunal three years ago, agencies report. "This has been the first case of voluntary surrender of accused from RS and let us hope it will not be the last one", the spokesman of the main prosecutor stated.

SARAJEVO - The archbishop Vrhbosanski Cardinal Vinko Puljic and assistant Vrhbosanski Monsignor Pero Sudar forwarded a protest to local and world public because of questionnaires dispensed to Croats in Sarajevo, which were propagandising "humane moving of Croats from Bosnia", a radio in the federal part of Sarajevo reports. In the protest it is said that in the last few days leaflets which were upsetting remaining Croats - Catholics in the region of Vrhbosanska archbishopric - were distributed again. The questionnaires are being distributed not just to refugees, but to those who have remained in their apartments or house as well.
