BANJALUKA - The president of Republika Srpska (RS) Biljana Plavsic will leave tomorrow for official visit to Republic of France which will for last several days, has been confirmed to SRNA from the Cabinet of RS president today. RS president was invited by the French Government and during her stay will have several bilateral meetings at the highest level. French State Agency informs that RS president will meet the French president Jacques Chirac, Chief of Diplomacy Hubert Vedrine and president of the Senator Commission of Foreign Affairs, Defence and Armed Forces Havier de Villepin on February 9. During the visit to France Mrs. Plavsic will hold a press-conference titled "RS after Parliamentary Elections on November 23" in the Institute for International Relations.

BANJALUKA - The Deputy High Representative for B&H Jacques Klein after a meeting with RS president Biljana Plavsic and the Premier Milorad Dodik held in Banjaluka confirmed "desire of the international community to give financial help to the new Government". "I have also brought an copy of the new flag, and you have also seen the new licence plates. The purpose of all of this is to enable people to live better and in a free society, not disturbed by anyone", said Clein. He praised the new RS Government, with which he in 72 hours reached an agreement on delivering of peaces of mail from Sarajevo to Banjaluka.

ROGATICA - The president of the Municipal Assembly of Rogatica Zoran Kosoric emphasised after talks with Hungarian delegation led by the Ambassador to B&H Kalmas Kocis that after a period of isolation and economic sanctions this municipality has been finally given a chance for disposal of products in Hungarian market. "The Hungarians have shown great interest for import of products of lumber, textile and metal industry, i.e. factories for production of cleaners of Rogatica (TPR), 'Roteks' and 'Alpo'", said Kosoric.

SARAJEVO - The Special Representative of UN Secretary General for B&H Elizabeth Rehn announced that "in 1998, we will continue our police restructuring programme" both in RS and B&H Federation (FB&H), which would include almost 20,000 police officers in both entities. "Our police restructuring programme is imperative in building confidence in government institutions among population but it can only succeed if it is complemented by a reformed and independent judiciary" - stated Mrs. Rehn at a press- conference held in Sarajevo reminding that "the main goal is to have fully integrated multi-ethnic police forces in both entities by the end of the year.

BELGRADE - On June 11 of 1992 Muslim-Croatian armed forces intensified attacks on Serbian civilians in Brcko, were killing, robbing Serbian houses, desecrating churches, grave yards and taking civilians to concentration camps, where civilians had been tortured and killed. The Committee for Gathering Data on Ccrimes committed against humanity and international law of Serbia has concrete proves of crimes against Serbs in villages of Bosanska Bijela, Bukovac, Bukvik, Vujicic, Gajeva, Vukovac, Vucilovac and Cerik, and this is just a small part of file of Brcko. Writes a journalist of SRNA Sonja Lakic in a text titled "Killing of Serbs Began in June 1992".

HAGUE - In a trial against Slavko Dokmanovic, the former mayor of Vukovar, the first one who testified before the Hague Tribunal under pseudonym "Veber" is one of captured Croats, who had spent sometime in a jail in Sremska Mitrovica after entering of Jugoslavian National Army (JNA) in Vukovar. According to him, 1,200 of men Croats were captured, but stating that they were escorted in Sremska Mitrovica, i.e. across the river Danube in Serbia under police guard, he is directly accusing official Belgrade of participation in the war against Croatia.

SARAJEVO - The former representative in B&H Parliament accused of war crimes Ibrahim Djedovic, close to the former leader of Muslim from Kladusa Fikret Abdic, is brought to a trial in Canton of Sarajevo - is learned from court sources. Djedovic was a member of Democratic National Union (DNZ) of Fikret Abdic, and has been arrested in Sarajevo last year at a session of the Assembly, and Muslim judiciary is accusing him of crimes against civilians and war prisoners committed in 1994, when he was the chief of police in Velika Kladusa - report agencies.

BELGRADE - The problem of Kosovo and Metohija have been internationalised thanks to FRY president Slobodan Milosevic and his regime - assessed in Belgrade the vice-president of Democratic Party (DS) Slobodan Vuksanovic. "The Milosevic's regime is not undertaking any action to solve the problem", said Vuksanovic at a regular press-conference and added that "there are already announcements for holding 'Dayton' on Kosovo, and FRY president, sooner or latter, will be forced to accept much more than it is asked of him now".

VIENNA - The delegation of RS expressed in a statement for SRNA pleasure with work of the second day of the session of the International Arbitrage Commission held in the hotel "Ambassador" in Vienna, assessing that presentation of the Supervisor for Brcko Robert Farrand has been utmost corrective. "Statement of the Supervisor Farrand was very corrective and detailed, including all relevant data", assessed RS vice-president Dragoljub Mirjanic in the statement for SRNA. At the session Farrand spoke about freedom of movement, return of refugees, implementation of results of municipal elections and the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) and judiciary. The representative of RS Government in the Arbitrage Commission Krstan Simic emphasised that RS did not have any reason for fear and the day was extremely successful.

BRCKO - The president of the Municipal Board (OO) of Serbian Democratic Party (SDS) in Brcko Mladen Bosic assessed for SRNA that "behaviour of Socialists in Brcko concerning arbitrage inter-entity line near Brcko is counterproductive and its aim is only personal promotion of the people from that party". Reacting on yesterday's assessments of the president of OO Socialist Party of RS (SPRS) in Brcko Petar Djokic that it has not been done enough to prepare delegation to testify before the Arbitrage Tribunal in Vienna, as well as that the right people were not included in the process, Bosic emphasised that it was "just showing that the only planning goal of individuals is to grab the power, even when election results are showing that minority of people supports them".

SARAJEVO - Police of FB&H arrested on the inter-entity boundary line (IEBL) in a settlement of Sarajevo, Dobrinja, two RS citizens - Goran Vasic and Slavisa Lale, has been confirmed for SRNA from the Police Station of Srpska Ilidza. After this arrest, a group of citizens stopped a bus of UNHCR in Lukavica which was transporting passengers from the federal to Serbian part of Sarajevo, demanding for arrested Vasic and Lale to be released.

SARAJEVO - UN spokesman Alexander Ivanko stated in a telephone conversation that the federal police from Sarajevo have released Slavisa Lale, while Goran Vasic is still in a custody. Speaking of possibility for Vasic to be released too, Ivanko said that B&H police charged him of murder of a former deputy premier Hakija Turajlic in 1993, so he could not speak about chances for his releasing.

BANJALUKA - In the main post office in Banjaluka the ceremony to mark the delivery of screening of almost 1 million of pieces of mail from Sarajevo to Banjaluka was attended by Ambassador Klein and Communications Ministers from both entities. During the ceremony the Communication Minister in RS Government thanked everybody who, as he put it, made great effort to enable all beneficiaries in RS to receive their packages, letters and other valuable pieces of mail in the last two years, although with delay.

BANJALUKA - Deputy High International Representative for B&H Jacques Klein stated in Banjaluka that EU have assigned 12 millions of DM as a financial support to RS budget, from that amount Dutch Government gave 1.4 and Swedish 400,000 DM. "Thanks to this help, RS Government will be able to pay out its commitments, i. e. salaries to workers in education, police, customs, tax department, judiciary and other budget beneficiaries", said Klein. According to him, efforts of the international community are directed toward help to RS.

BANJALUKA - The chief of Danish Delegation of Red Cross Klaus Groober announced in Banjaluka that the Government of that country would send an urgent humanitarian aid to refugees and displaced persons in RS, which was mainly intended for the health sector. During the meeting of the president of Regional Red Cross from Banjaluka Nedeljko Milojevic and representatives of Danish Government and Norwegian Red Cross, Groober emphasised that the help would be intended for payment of salaries of health workers, drugs and medical equipment, as well as restructure of housing fund for refugees in RS.

BANJALUKA - The president of RS Socialist Party (SPRS) Zivko Radisic and Italian Ambassador to B&H Michelle Valences have reached an agreement about the way for overcoming of economic and social problems in RS, stated Information Service of SPRS.

PRIJEDOR - The president of the Municipal Assembly of Srpski Sanski Most Mirko Vergic stated for SRNA in Ostra Luka that "for survival and permanent settling of municipalities which are bordering on FB&H was necessary to provide minimal living conditions.
