NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SARAJEVO - The president of the Government of Republika Srpska (RS) Gojko Klickovic assessed if RS Parliament does not adopt the programme, offered by Mladen Ivanic and RS president Biljana Plavsic, i. e. world centres of power, RS will be divided and merged with united B&H. At a press-conference in Srpsko Sarajevo he emphasised that " the programme has only one task - merging of RS with the united B&H". At a question of SRNA journalist what sort of position will representatives of Serbian Democratic Party (SDS) and Serbian Radical Party (SRS) take if the proposal of RS president would be adopted at the forthcoming continuation of the Parliament Constitutive Session, RS premier said he was an optimist and he believed that that proposal would not pass.

SRPSKO SARAJEVO - A Central celebration of RS Day and Republic Saint Patron's Day of St. Archdeacon Stephen will be held tomorrow in Brcko. As it has been announced, His Holy Highness bishop of Zvornik and Tuzla Mr. Vasilije will perform sacred archpriest liturgy in the Church of Most Holy Theodokos Assumption at 9.30 am, and laying wreaths on the monuments to Serbian defenders of Brcko has been planed later.

BRCKO - Everything in the world is possible - this spring in a winter and snow in Africa, but memorial of Serbian sons and whole Serbian nationality west form Drina can and must not be destroyed, because it needs only a good will of good people - sent a word a father of killed fighter Despot Peric from Brezovo Polje on the eve of RS Saint Patron's Day in Brcko. PARIS - On the second day of Christmas, in the Church of St. Sava will be solemnly marked RS Saint Patron's Day of St. Archdeacon and Protomartyr Stephen. Dedication of festive cake and commemoration of prayer protector of Serbian Orthodox people in RS will be performed by clergyman of RS Mission in France father Nikola Crnokrak.

SRPSKO SARAJEVO - The special delegate of UN Secretary General Ambassador Kai Eide will hold tomorrow, on January 09, at 11.30 a press-conference in the International Press-Centre in barracks Marshal Tito in Sarajevo. As it has been announced to SRNA from the UN Office of Civil Sector in Pale, this will be the last press-conference of the ambassador Eide before his leaving B&H.

BANJALUKA - From January 19 until 25 in the Centre of military schools "Rajko Balac" in Banjaluka, which is being attended by cadets of the First, Third, Fifth and Seventh Corpus of Army of Republika Srpska (VRS) intensive training of deminers, members of VRS will be organised, was reported for SRNA in the SFOR Command, sector South-west in Ramici, near Banjaluka. As it is stated in the announcement, lecturers are members of 38. engineering regiment form Great Britain, and stabilisation forces will be engaged in the following period also on the intensive training of deminers, members of B&H Army and Croatian Council of Defence (HVO).

AMSTERDAM - Netherlands is the forth in the world on the list of B&H Federation financiers and it intends to keep this high position in this year too - is cited in the statement for press made by Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and it is also said that it will remain actively involved in solving of the political situation, and also the special accent will be placed on the situation in RS.

PODGORICA - The session of the of Momir Bulatovic' Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) Main Board (GO) is scheduled for tomorrow in Podgorica, where, as it is being anticipated, the decision on the beginning date of citizens protest gatherings in the organisation of this political party will be made.

AMSTERDAM - Netherlands is violating one of the basic rights of prisoners, adopted in the whole civilised world, the right of suspect to see his lawyer whenever there is a need for that - is claimed by Croatian lawyer Goran Mikulcic, a defender of accused Zlatko Aleksovski in the Tribunal. This is the first time that anyone, especially someone from aside, so publicly brings into question the rules, which are in effect in jails of this country and forwards open and sharp critic on the account of Dutch prison regime - Dutch media are commenting opinion of the Croatian lawyer with apparent discontent.

PARIS - France has begun the year of 1998 with maybe largest and most dangerous campaign which has arose against it in 1968, because the Jew World Congress, after Switzerland, accused France for hiding in the safes of the most famous banks gold that Germans had stolen from Jews. So the most famous bank found themselves on the "black list", the bank like "Societe Generale", "Credit Agricole", "BNP", and even an English bank "Berkeley", well-known in France. According to the first estimations, the affair is very serious and it can cause great damages to France.
