DEC.15, 1997 DAY

NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SARAJEVO - The session of both Houses of the B&H Parliamentary Assembly should be held in Sarajevo, to discuss laws of citizenship and passports in accordance with the conclusions of the Bonn Conference, and for which term for adoption is expiring today. A session of the House of Representatives is scheduled for 11:00 am, and of the House of People for 2:00 pm.

HAMBURG - Considering relations in new convocation of the National Assembly (NS) of Republika Srpska (RS), the only possible coalition for forming a stable government is coalition between the Serbian Democratic Party (SDS), Serbian Radical Party and Socialist Party (SP) of RS - concludes "Welt". Thus, explains this German paper, the American initiative to induce the RS Socialists to be in a coalition with the Serbian National Union of Biljana Plavsic, using pressures on the FR Yugoslavia president Slobodan Milosevic, can not be carried out in practice.

BIJELJINA - Continuation of the first constitutive session of Municipal Assembly Bijeljina, where a president and vicepresident of the Municipal Assembly should be elected, will be held in the large auditorium of House of Youth at 10:00 am.

BANJALUKA - The president of Republika Srpska (RS) Biljana Plavsic talked in Banjaluka with the supervisor of the International Community Robert Farrand about implementation of the election results in Brcko, which, according to her assessment, "Farrand is conducting correctly because he is cooperating with municipal authorities". "The results of the municipal elections have to be implemented in Brcko, where Serbs have won the majority, which will be reflected on general life of the inhabitants, and in the final phase there are few projects financed by the International Community", emphasised Mrs. Plavsic after the meeting.

SARAJEVO - The Minister of Foreign Affairs in the RS Government Aleksa Buha talked in Pale with the Greek Ambassador to Sarajevo Prokopius Mansuranis about post-election situation in RS and repeated the attitude of the Serbian Democratic Party (SDS) about forming assembly's majority and the government."SDS has entered into the agreement with the Radicals, and we are waiting for Socialist to accompany us", assesses Buha, adding that the "formula", which has been already applied at the local level, proved as a good one and that there are no reasons to drop it.

SARAJEVO - The RS Government should at the session, scheduled for 5,00 pm in Pale, consider the Draft of Law on termination of the validity of the Law on Republican fund of common reserves and pass the Proposal on regulation of selling a part of state capital to workers and managing team. As it was anticipated, the Government should also consider the Proposal of Decision of privatisation of enterprises through public sales, the Proposal of Decision about supplement and amendment of Decision of proclaiming the state enterprises, important to RS, in the field of lumber light industry, as well as the Proposal of Decision for granting radio-diffuse frequencies for temporary benefiting.

BELGRADE - The president of SDS for Serbia Dragoljub Kojicic assessed that the agreement on double citizenship of FRY and B&H is in the interest of Serbian people, warning that the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) should not use it for its pre-election campaign. " Such an agreement should have been signed seven years ago, because many of young expert personnel left the country, because they could not get the citizenship", stated Kojcic at a press conference in Belgrade.

BANJALUKA - The president of the Coalition for the King and Fatherland Dubravko Prstojevic forwarded critics to Socialist Party (SP) of RS, because they refused to be in coalition with Serbian Democratic Party and Serbian Radical Party, emphasising that this party is hiding very skillfully its internal discords. At the press conference in Banjaluka he said that SP RS will, " by steps back, try to deepen the crisis in RS".

PRIJEDOR - Priority tasks for future RS parliament are defining the priorities in the implementation of the Dayton Agreement in context of Bonn Conference, and establishing obstructed unity in Republika, thinks the president of Municipal Board of SP RS Prijedor Radomir Bursac. He emphasised at the press conference in Prijedor that it is necessary that the future RS Government is consisted of experts, regardless of their political belonging.

PARIS - " Liberation" gives great attention to disagreements between French and Tribunal in Hag and emphasises that the main prosecutor of the court Louise Arbour is continuing with the attacks even before the meeting with the French Minister of Foreign Affairs Hubert Vedrine. In interview for "Liberation", Mrs. Arbour is still insisting on necessity of testifying of commanders of UNPROFOR who have been on their duty in former B&H, in order to, according to her, "find out if political and military leaders in former Yugoslavia were giving orders and whether they knew what was going on".

BELGRADE - The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy Lamberto Dini had a meeting in Belgrade with the chief of Yugoslavia Diplomacy Milan Milutinovic. As it was told to SRNA in the Embassy of Italy, after the talks with Mr. Milutinovic, Mr. Dini will meet the president of FR Yugoslavia Slobodan Milosevic.

ATHENS - Greek Delegation, lead by the premier Kostas Simitis, came back from the Summit of EU in Luxembourg with a great concern because of threats of Turkey, which will in case if Cyprus enters the EU, began with attaching northern part of Cyprus, which is already for 23 years under Turkish occupation, as well as other provocations which will cause damage to Greece.

PODGORICA - Matija Beckovic is the twelfth winner of the Njegos award for literature, was decided in Podgorica by the jury for allotting the Njegos's award at its concluding session.
