NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

TREBINJE - Serbian Radical Party (SRS) and Serbian Democratic Party (SDS) have been so far in relations of strategy alliance considering the question of defence of Serbian national interests, and after the parliamentary elections in Republika Srpska (RS) this alliance will be even more firm, stated in Trebinje the president of Radicals Vojislav Seselj. Mr Seselj emphasised that his meeting with the premier of RS Gojko Klickovic in Trebinje was only continuation of the conversation with the officials of SDS about forming the joint Government.

SRBINJE - The Municipal Board of SRS Srbinje assessed that the elections for the National Assembly of RS were very successful concerning this party, because it has "confirmed the results from the last local elections". It has been agreed at the session that in the February of the following year the establishing assembly of Municipal Board of SRS would be held and organised inter-party elections, at which will be "checked out the legality of all activists - from presidents of local boards to presidents of OO".

RUDO - The chief of the Cabinet of the decorations of RS president general major Bogdan Subotic delivered in Rudo to the minister of religion in RS Government Vojislav Topalovic the Decoration of Njegos of the I Order. At the festivity in the premises of municipal assembly Rudo Topalovic returned the gift giving the reproduction of the icon of the St. Ana, mother of Theotokos of Cajnice.

BELGRADE - The High International representative Carlos Westendorp thinks that the document from Bonn is obliging for all signatories of the Peace agreement, with no regard on demonstrative abandoning the session of representatives of FR Yugoslavia and Republika Srpska /RS/, which was, in case of Belgrade, motivated by pre-electoral marketing. "Even if they stayed at the Conference and agreed with the document that would not be any guarantee that they will respect it", said Westendorp in an interview for the independent daily "Nasa borba".

PRIJEDOR - The representatives of the Hague Tribunal concluded the search of the house in Prijedor municipal assembly, where they made photographs and took a part of documentation of Executive Board from the time when its president was Milan Kovacevic. The representatives of Tribunal, who entered into the house being strongly escorted by SFOR and IPTF, did not give any official statements, stating that it was in the competence of the Office for press of the Hague Tribunal.

SARAJEVO - The minister for civilian matters and communications in the Council of Ministers of B&H Spasoje ALbijanic explained that the telephone connections between RS and Federation B&H /FB&H/ are not operating because of "technical problems", i.e. finance, which could be solved with three international switch boards. He announced that at the level of B&H could be "formed the commission for frequencies, which will exclusively regulate the operating and problems, and not allocation of frequencies".

ATHENS - The minister for matters of veterans, war victims and work in RS Vojislav GLigic talked in Athens with the Greek minister of Health and social protection Konstantin Jitonas about the cooperation of competent ministries, first of all in the field of providing aid for in war disabled persons in RS. Gligic is in the official visit to Athens called by three European delegates, founders of the humanitarian organisation "the Caravan of Solidarity" .

DOBOJ - The commander of the Nordic-Polish brigade of SFOR general Carsten Jacob Muler stated in Doboj that "international community should reduce the exaggerate pressure against Serbian people". "During six months long mandate I got very good impressions about people from this region, which honesty and hospitality can not be compared with anything" - stressed general Carsten.

BRCKO - The spokesman of the Serbian Democratic Party /SDS? Mladen Bosic thinks that at the Bonn Conference "was continued with the applying of the double standards in bringing decisions about implementation of the Dayton Agreement", as well as with imposing matters which are not in accordance with the spirit of this document". Talking about abandoning the Conference by RS and FRY delegations, Bosic stated that "the commenting about this act would be interesting in the spirit of statement of deputy High representative Jacques Klein "that he do not understand what is the connection between RS and delegation FRY, and what connection is between Kosovo and RS".

BRCKO - The president of the socialists from Brcko Petar Djokic thinks that Annex about Brcko, which was brought in Bonn by the Council for implementation of the Dayton Agreement, "clearly indicates that international community started the offensive, not leaving the time and space for action of dissatisfied parties". "On the contrary, they wish in a way to shorten the time for realisation of certain obligations from Dayton Agreement and simply accelerate all activities, so in the region of Brcko", stated Djokic today.

NOVI TRAVNIK - The constitutive session of the Municipal Council Novi Travnik was not held because of the request of Moslems that along with the head of municipality and president of the municipal board, also nominate their deputies, and that all decisions are passed by two-third majority. The Croatian radio Herceg-Bosna reports that Croatian Democratic Party /HDZ/ Novi Travnik, which won the greatest number of votes, rejected such requirements of Coalition for democratic and unitary B&H, on which head is the Party of Democratic Action.
