DEC. 02 1997 DAY

NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SARAJEVO - It is necessary that Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (B&H) adopts controversial laws, emphasised the Deputy of the High Representative in B&H Hans Schumacher and reminded that the meeting of the Parliamentary Board at which all sides achieved progress was held in Sarajevo. Schumacher talked about this with the President in B&H Presidency from Republika Srpska (RS) Momcilo Krajisnik and the special accent was on the laws of B&H Council of Ministers, citizenship, and passports laws.

SARAJEVO - The House of Representatives of B&H Parliamentary Assembly adopted the Law about B&H Council of Ministers in Sarajevo. Before the adopting of the Law the House of Representatives adopted the proposition of Serbian Democratic Party Club of representatives. According to this proposition, after the report of the B&H Council of Ministers work, a discussion about adding of new amendments and qualitative improvement of this law can be opened in March 1998.

VIENNA - The RS Government representative in OSCE Centre in Vienna Gordan Milinic stated that the voters ballots, by which the voters from abroad voted for representatives in RS National Assembly, will be send by special aeroplane on the evening of December 2nd about 6:00 pm, from OSCE centre in Vienna to Counting centre in Serbian Sarajevo. As he confirmed for SRNA, 51, 000 of ballots which are according to RS Government representatives regular, will be send to Lukavica.

BANJALUKA - The High Representative in B&H Carlos Westendorp is not requesting the protectorate over B&H, but only more clear defining of his mandate which is set by Dayton Agreement - announced Westerndorp's spokesman Duncan Boullivant at the press conference in Banjaluka. He emphasised that there is no need to change this Agreement and warned the authorities of RS and B&H Federation not to violate its Annex no.7 by their property laws.

BANJALUKA - The Party of Independent Social-Democrats of RS will propose forming of coalition in RS National Assembly to Socialist Party of RS (SPRS) and to Serbian National Union (SNS) - stated General Secretary of this party Nenad Bastinac at the press conference in Banjaluka.

BANJALUKA - The three strongest party in RS have a historical chance to achieve at the end of the last decade of 20th century what until now did not achieve no other political option in Serbia, Montenegro and other Serbian regions. The historical opportunity and responsibility to finally unite and reconcile dangerous ideological differences, which have been causing damage to Serbian people already for decades, appeared to SDS, SPRS and Serbian Radical Party (SRS) - writes SRNA journalist Radovan Jovic.

SARAJEVO - During the war, the Serbs were not permitted to meet each other, to lock their apartments in which Muslims were breaking into at any time, day or night, without knocking and on a pretext to check whether some of the tenants had left without permission etc. These raids were spiced with insulting, deterring, curses and threats like "all "chetnics" /Serbs soldiers/ should be slaughtered" and they considered all Serbs, even children, women and old persons to be "chetnics" - writes the editorial policy assistant of SRNA Director, Zeljko Grujic in the text "Golgotha of Serbs in Hrasnica."

BANJALUKA - As SRNA unofficially learns, the fourth session of the Municipal Parliament in Banjaluka at which the new leaders should have been elected, was cancelled, and a new session is scheduled at December 4th on Thursday.

BRCKO - In the settlement Stari Rasadnik in Brcko the ceremony of transfer of area cleared of mines between Supervisor Robert Farrand and local authorities of Brcko will take place on December 3rd. According to statement of Farrand's office, the area cleared of mines is 12,000 square metres large and includes 20 houses which have been cleared, with help of Danish Government, by experts of UN Mine Clearing Centre.
