NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SARAJEVO - The president from Republika Srpska (RS) in the B-H Presidency, Momcilo Krajisnik, warned in Pale that the holding of "parliamentarian elections only" would draw the final division of RS and two co-existing parliament. While commenting yesterday's statement by RS president Biljana Plavsic referring to only parliamentarian elections, Krajisnik said that it was Plavsic's attempt to "evade the presidential elections".

BEOGRAD - RS president Biljana Plavsic assessed in an interview for the "Demokratija" that the Belgrade agreement on holding parliamentarian and presidential elections in RS was "an agreement between three people which has property of a political act." President Plavsic assessed that "the elections for RS president cannot be held this year", and added that "the Belgrade agreement, as being inconsistent with the Law is unapplicable".

BANJALUKA - The president of the US Committee for Journalists Protection, Cathy Morthan, assessed in Banjaluka that recent blockade of the Serb Radio- TV (SRT) Studio-Serb Sarajevo as being a short-term measure with the aim at "elimination of propaganda and all contents slowing down the Dayton implementation." SFOR's takeover of SRT transmission towers silent down a TV which was most harmful for the implementation of the Dayton agreement, warned Cathy Morthon after her meeting with RS president Biljana Plavsic. As the main reason for Committee members' visit to B-H she pointed out "assistance in democratisation of media throughout B-H".

SARAJEVO - The employees of the SRT Studio-Serb Sarajevo decided to halt a general strike they began with early this month when SFOR troops seized four transmitters, thus preventing them from doing their job. In this regard they addressed to the RS Government which is as SRT founder, expected to find way at its next session to meet SRT basic demands.

SARAJEVO - RS parliamentarians expressed their readiness to constructively contribute to the work of the current session f the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, this was assessed after the meeting of the president of the RS National Assembly and vicepresident of the Chamber of People of the B-H Parliament from RS Momir Tosic with the delegation of the Council of Europe.

SARAJEVO - The director of the Direction of Serbian Democratic Party (SDS), Vlado Vrkes, is hopeful tat the SDS will win the up-coming parliamentarian and presidential elections in RS. "If the presidential elections are to be led immediately after parliamentarian elections, the SDS will, proceed with its campaign and go to elections, and hopefully win", stated Vrkes for SRNA.

BRCKO - According to the results of 261 arms inspections, conducted by IPTF in RS and the B-H Federation from August 20 until today, arms were confiscated from 38 police facilities in RS and 50 in the Federation, this was announced from the IPTF HQ in B-H.

BRCKO - The head of the Public Security Centre (CJB) in Brcko, Mico Simikic, confirmed for SRNA that the security situation in the city was satisfactory, and that the Serb police, following Supervisor's orders on multiethnic police in Brcko which took effect on October 13, carried out its regular duties.

AMSTERDAM - The majority of officially registered organisation and foundation in USA operating under parole of "intensive aiding to the most war-affected areas of the former Yugoslavia" do not hide any longer that their funds collected are sent exclusively to Muslim-controlled areas.

PARIS - While making a report on Greek volunteers as defenders of RS during the civil war in the former B-H, the French monthly magazine "L' Ordre" says that "about sixty Greeks went to defend RS after they had learned that 'Grey Wolves" - Islamists form Turkey had been engaged for the Muslim side. "

PARIS - The chair of the B-H Presidency, Alija Izetbegovic islamises Sarajevo, concludes the Paris paper "Faer", claiming that the Muslim leader "joins the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) with Turkish Integristic Party REFAH, while his prime minister Hasan Muratovic multiplies his visits to Iran."

ATHENS - The Federal Government decided that school children should learn different histories - one Corat coloured with bright nationalistic colours, while Muslim children are educated in Islamist spirit - writes the Greek paper "Tanea", concluding that it is a very dangerous playing with abuse of children for political purposes.

PODGORICA - The electoral silence begins at midnight before October 19 second round of presidential elections in Monte Negro.

SARAJEVO - The Serb sarajevo city Assembly and international humanitarian organisation "InterSos" signed DEM 200,000 agreement on development of cow farm in Kijev.

SRPSKI BROD - The humanitarian agency "Be Healthy" which offers psycho- social help to refugees and displaced persons opened its centre in Srpski Brod.
