NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

BANJA LUKA - The president of Republika Srpska /RS/ Biljana Plavsic talked in Banja Luka with the chief of OSCE mission Robert Frowick about the preparations for holding the extraordinary parliamentary elections in RS, for which was assessed that they would be held under the "supervision of OSCE". According to her, after reiterated electoral process for the new composition of the parliament "we shall not have to worry and be afraid for RS", because the extraordinary elections will be held "in the way and according to the rules and procedures of the Provisional Electoral Commission /PEC/".

DOBOJ - RS will not yield before the unreasonable requirements that the international community impose administration in media and perform unfounded changing its cadre nor for the price of returning its occupied transmitters - stated in Doboj the president of RS Government Gojko Klickovic. Confirming for SRNA that "RS in no way desire the conflict with SFOR or another parts of international community", the prime minister of Srpska accentuated that "in that case is not clear for what purpose will serve the transmitters to those who occupied it". Klickovic expressed the hope that this problem will be solved in next ten days, especially after the letters which he and president in the Presidency of B&H from RS Momcilo Krajisnik sent to the High international Representative Carlos Westendorp in which they gave their views of the situation and proposed the measurements for settlement of the dispute.

ZVORNIK - The president of the Municipal Board of the Serbian Democratic Party /OO SDS/ of Zvornik Stevo Radic concluded at the session of the Electoral Staff at the basis of the results of the municipal elections that Zvornik is the Serbian city despite the attempt of the international community to enable Moslems to have more substantial participation in the municipal authorities. Out of 70 seats in the Assembly of municipality Zvornik, SDS has got 20, Serbian Radical Party /SRS/ 14, Socialistic Party /SP/ of RS 6, National Radical Party 2, while the Moslem parties won 28 delegate's seats.

VISEGRAD - Although it is difficult to talk about everything that is happening on the political scene in RS, and more difficult to have a presentiment of outcome, I am convinced that there will be enough of common sense to keep our unity - stated the president of the Club of delegates of the Serbian Democratic Party /SDS/ in the National Assembly of RS Vojislav Maksimovic. "The main worry for us is to preserve RS and I am convinced that we shall have a power for that. I count on our national parties -

SDS and Serbian Radical Party /SRS/, which have clear goal - preserving the state for which we had given numerous human victims and made enormous material efforts" - said Maksimovic in the statement for SRNA.

VISEGRAD - The senator of RS Momir Vojvodic sent a message from Visegrad that "SFOR's action of occupying the transmitters of the Serbian Radio-TV /SRT/ in RS is thought-out in the political kitchens of Washington and Bonn". Serbs like all great peoples have a lot of junk, on which its enemies can count always, because that easily bribed part of the nation is being easily converted and forgets its own interests", so now the world powers think that the same can reach through SFOR.

BANJA LUKA - The OSCE chief and co-presiding of PEC Robert Frowick talked in Banja Luka with the president of the Party of Independent Social- democrats /SNDS/ of RS Milorad Dodik about holding the extraordinary parliamentary elections in RS. STOCKHOLM - What is achieved by the Dayton Agreement could hardly be called the peace, although by its signing, after the ceasing of the war activities in B&H, many politicians, diplomats and journalists had expressed the hope that in Balkans is finally secured the peace. This is the assessment of the Swedish expert for Balkans Oryan Stureshie who claims in the newest issue of the magazine "The International Studies" that in B&H is actually the truce, during which the tensions and ethnic clensings were continued. "Besides tensions between Serbs and Moslems, especially are expressed every day conflicts in Federation B&H" - stresses Stureshie, reminding also on the conflict between the president of RS Biljana Plavsic with the other part of the state leadership.

His Holiness the patriarch Serbian Mr. Pavle cancelled his arrival in Bijeljina because of the reasons of health. While addressing the guests after the religious service, the bishop Vasilije assessed that "the arrival of the dear spiritual friends from Kiev represent the great event for Serbian people".

After the meeting the president of the EC Commission for monitoring the undertaken commitments of the new members of this European organisation De Marko especially stressed the importance of the document about reconciliation, which recently adopted the Croatian government, and added that "now is most important that this programme shall be turned into reality".

SARAJEVO - The Embassy of Republic of Croatia in B&H most sharply condemned the tonight's planting the mines in the building of Catholic school centre in Sarajevo and expects that the perpetrators of this evil act would be appropriately punished - reports the Croatia Radio of Herceg Bosna. "Tonight's planting the explosive is the continuation of the series of terroristic acts aimed against Croats and Catholics in FB&H - warns the Croatian Embassy.

MOSTAR - The provincial board of the Croatian Democratic Community /HDZ/ of Posavina confirmed at the press conference that they will accuse the presiding of the OSCE mission in B&H Robert Frowick "because of the series of irregularities at the local elections". "We are pleased with the overall results, although we have a numerous objections because of the difficulties accompanied with the performance of elections, and this is first of all related to the Croats abroad who met the unreasonable obstacles during the registration" - assessed the representatives of HDZ.

MOSTAR - The editor in chief of the Mostar's studio of Croatian Radio-TV Milan Sutalo qualified yesterday's threats of the spokesman of the High international representative Simon Haselock that SFOR will impose them the measurements alike those imposed against Pale's studio of the Serbian radio- TV as nonsense, and required the public excuse and threatened with the sue. "The Haselock statement is full of thought-out untruths, shall I say lies" - said Sutalo. He added that Haselock's accusation that the Mostar's studio is using the inciting language of slanders, because it is not founded on any evidence, and that the claim that short before elections they called lunatics the Croats who wants to live together with Moslems is false.
