NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SARAJEVO - The RS government adopted at the session held in Pale the draft of law on agricultural cooperatives and laws on amendments and supplements of the law on pension and disabled person's insurance, which will be sent in the form of draft laws sent for discussion to the National Assembly. In the text of the draft law on amendments and supplements of the law on pension security are given suggestions of the Ministry for the matters of fighters, victims of war and work, related to the procedure in relation with the categorisation of fighters, i.e. recognising the special war length of service.

SARAJEVO - The president in the Presidency of B&H from RS Momcilo Krajisnik and co-presiding of the Council of Ministers Boro Bosic talked in Pale with the SFOR general William Crouch and his deputy general Simpson about the newest actions of NATO, which provoked the unrest of the people in RS. It is stressed that the actions of NATO, resulting in killing Simo Drljaca and kidnapping doctor Milan Kovacevic in Prijedor, additionally complicated security situation in RS which produced negative particular actions. Jointly is assessed that SFOR and RS institutions must closely cooperate to prevent the further worsening of the situation.

SARAJEVO - The vice-president of RS Government Aleksa Buha stressed that the international community would have respected the institutions of Republika Srpska, and that the last word about the current crisis will give RS Constitutional Court and that it will be obligatory. Mr. Buha stressed after the meeting in Pale with the political director of OSCE Vladimir Kuznietsov, with whom he talked, as said, successful talks about the current situation in the state and its institutions.

SARAJEVO - In the state museum in Sarajevo will be held the session of the Council of Ministers, at which should have been discussed about the law on citizenship and law on passports. In the proposal about of the agenda is also the decision on opening and signing the credit and special accounts, survey of unsolved materials sent to the Council of Ministers and Memorandum on agreed principles related to the organisation of the telecommunication sector in B&H and Memorandum on understanding between B&H and European Bank for reconstruction and development.

SARAJEVO - The British soldiers of SFOR arrested in Banja Luka four persons - stated the spokesman of SFOR John Blakely. At the press conference in Sarajevo he stated that these persons were "seen in the vicinity, after few explosions in the British base", and then arrested.

BANJA LUKA - Last night in one British base of SFOR in Banja Luka's settlement Malta were heard four explosions, which didn't make any damage, announced the SFOR HQ sector South-west with the seat in Ramici. In the announcement is said that the SFOR sentinels before explosions noticed two persons who had run away after the explosions and opening of fire of British solders.

BRCKO - The OSCE Office in Brcko got false phone threat that in its premises in the street of Dusan Djokic, in the centre of the city, was installed the bomb. After the telephone call received by interpreter of OSCE, the said region was blocked and secured by RS police.

DOBOJ - The IPTF and SFOR in Brcko engaged the special team for revealing mines, so to check last night's anonymous threats that in the premises of OSCE in this city was set the explosive device - it is announced from the District of international police forces from Tuzla. At the press conference in Doboj the spokesman of this organisation Andre Agneli stated "that to the OSCE personnel in Brcko last night were addressed three anonymous threats about explosive".

DOBOJ - The representatives of the Police Station /CJB/ Doboj announced that the public order and peace in the municipalities of the Doboj region is stable. "The situation is stable despite rising political tensions and reflections provoked by such status, as well as unfavourable social aspect", is said in the announcement of CJB DOboj.

DOBOJ - The citizens of Doboj were much upset by the SFOR convoy, which passed by the railway lately last night through this region. According to the information, 31 wagons were transported from Venice, via Zagreb and Doboj, towards Tuzla. According to the SFOR version, they transported the machinery for railway reconstruction between Tuzla, Brcko and Zvornik.

BRCKO - The special UN envoy for human rights in the former Yugoslavia Elizabeth Rehn is in Brcko. After the meeting with the supervisor Robert Farrand, Mrs. Rehn will talk with Luka Puric, the commissioner for refugees of the municipality Brcko, walk through the city, and the meeting with the mayor Miodrag Pajic is also scheduled.

BRCKO - From the Office of the supervisor in Brcko Robert Farrand today is communicated the correction of the yesterday's Farrand's statement in which is stressed that he "do not support president of RS Biljana Plavsic", but condemn the policy of isolationism of the leaders from Pale. "I think that understanding of the political dynamics of the president Plavsic and her willingness to talk openly about the critical themes with the citizens will contribute to the ending of the isolation maintained by the RS political leadership from Pale, which is completely against the interest and needs of its citizens", is said in the Farrand's comment.

SARAJEVO - The Office of the High representative Carlos

Westendorp, in the certain way, is denied the assertion of the president of RS Biljana Plavsic that in any way she was prevented to talk in the RS media, especially Serbian radio-television. In the conclusion of the extensive and detailed analysis of acting of the state media in RS in last 15 days, which from the Office of the High Representative was forwarded by the representative from OSCE, to the General director of SRT, is cited the next conclusion: "Judging according the long appearances and public calls to do that whenever she wants, it could be said that the issue of approaching of Biljana Plavsic to SRT solved".

BANJA LUKA - Any kind of conflict with SFOR would be fatal for RS, and could cause new migrations of Serbs from these regions - thinks the president of the National Party Radoslav Brdjanin. At the press conference in Banja Luka he warned that the Dayton Agreement must be respected and implemented.

KNEZEVO - The murder of Simo Drljaca, the former first man of the Prijedor police, and arresting of doctor Milan Kovacevic could have unforeseeable consequences for the further course of the implementation of Dayton Agreement and relations between the citizens of RS with members of SFOR, stated Vujadin Milic, the president of Municipal Assembly Knezevo. According to him, last events in Prijedor had clearly shown the hypocrisy of the creators of the so called new world order, who by not choosing the means tries to dispose to satanism the whole Serbian people.

BANJA LUKA - The president of the Democratic patriotic party /DPS RS/ Predrag Radic expressed his concern because of the slow calming down the situation after known decisions of the RS president Biljana Plavsic. He appealed at the press conference in Banja Luka on all responsible persons in RS to contribute to the faster resolving the situation, and to analyse the causes of the last events in RS, not dealing with the past time and its consequences.

BANJA LUKA - The president of the Serbian patriotic party of RS /SPAS RS/ Slavko Zupljanin stated at the press conference in Banja Luka that SFOR have to stop all further actions of capturing the allegedly indicted for war crimes, because that killing of innocent civilians will not past without consequences. "We do not recognise any secret lists, and many Serbs are ready to go in Hague for testimony about Serbian victims in the past war" - stated Zupljanin and added:"SFOR came out of its mandate during events in Prijedor".

BANJA LUKA - The Association of the demobilised army officers gave the statement on the occasion of the anonymous leaflet which appeared in the territory of RS calling for attacks against international forces, that it is created in the Centre for the psychological and propaganda activities in Tuzla with the aim of destroying RS and bringing in the confusion into the current political situation in RS.
