MRKONJIC GRAD - The first vice-president of the Serbian Democratic Party Aleksa Buha expressed his astonishment with the last night's statement of the president of Republika Srpska Biljana Plavsic in which she announces the possibility of introducing the foreign protectorate in RS. "We have our institutions and we do not need foreign", stated Mr. Buha in Mrkonjic Grad after the meeting with the representatives of the five Western Krajina municipalities, expressing the amazement that Mrs. Plavsic "qualified RS as the party state", while she "secures herself the support at the party meetings and with the help of the political followers". The minister of the foreign affairs of RS stressed that current crisis in RS need to be returned into the state institutions and to wait for the decision of the Constitutional Court of RS, which, "must be obligatory for all sides".

SARAJEVO - The deputy minister of the Foreign affairs of RS Radomir Lukic stated that the "Venetian commission is not a part of the structure for implementation the Dayton agreement and its opinion has no legal obligatory character for the organs of RS". In the statement for the Serbian Radio- Television Mr. Lukic stressed that the state organs of RS accepted the Venetian Commission as the organ for consulting and exchange opinions with the High Representative of the international community for civil affairs Carlos Westendorp and nothing more than that. "As the agent of the RS Government in the procedure before the Constitutional Court of RS in any case will take into consideration the opinion of this commission, but from one purely skilled point of view, which can and must be submitted to the criticism", stressed the deputy minister of the Foreign Affairs of RS.

HAGUE - The Belgrade's lawyer Igor Pantelic was officially informed from the Hague Tribunal that the request of Milan Kovacevic, who was kidnapped by SFOR members in Prijedor on July 10, on the basis of the secret indictment for alleged war crimes, and delivered to Hague, was positively answered for him to be his defender in the trial. In the statement for SRNA Pantelic stressed that temporarily is most important that the health condition of Dr Kovacevic, who is temporarily in a penitentiary hospital, would be determined, after which will be required his momentary releasing, as he could defend himself from the freedom and if necessary comes to Hague, which is in accordance with the Rules of Detention. Pantelic precisely stated that the detailed and all-inclusive investigation of his client's health in the penitentiary hospital is underway. "Dr Kovacevic has difficulties with the heart arrhythmia. He is in well state of psyche, but we shall require, after completing these investigations in hospital, that our physicians come and check out the findings and give supervision of his health status", said Pantelic. He stressed that in the trial he will decide upon the procedure which will depend upon the state of health of Dr Kovacevic.

BRCKO - The Office of the international supervisor for the region of Brcko announced that in accordance with the provisions and regulations of the Provisional Electoral Commission it will consider the objections of citizens of Brcko related to the process of registering the voters in this city. The announcement is issued after gathering of the great number of citizens of Brcko in front of the Office of supervisor and OSCE, protesting because of the decision that almost 4,000 of the citizens of Brcko eligible to vote would be sent on the complaining procedure.

SARAJEVO - The Donor's Conference, which would secure the international financial aid for B&H in this year, will be held on July 23 and 24 in Brussels, announced the World Bank in Sarajevo. "The organisers of the conference the World Bank and the European Commission, after finding the essential progress in implementing the economic projects in B&H, have decide to fix the date of holding the conference", stated the deputy director of the World Bank for B&H Samya Mitra.
